Guest guest
You guys are going to think I've lost my mind. Maybe I have. Things are getting stranger and stranger here everyday. I'd like to know how to help Boone because the things he is experiencing lately are very upsetting to him, to all of us really. I know I haven't kept up with my lists, but I just can't right now. It started on September 9. He drew those towers that are on his art page. Then the towers with smoke coming from them, the bomb in the sky with a windmill and the airplane clock on the 11th. On the 15th, he drew the picture of fire(?) and the picture that could be either a pyramid or the rubble from the towers on the 15th. He drew clocks nonstop for a period of six months then stopped. He hasn't drawn a single clock since then. Clocks are suddenly of little interest to him. He has drawn nothing but battle fields and apple trees. He won't let us save the battle fields at all. It's as if he's afraid of them. n, from the parenting autism group sent a picture of her son, Timmy. Boone was in the living room and could probably see the picture, but I don't believe he saw the name anywhere. He began chanting " Timmy, Timmy, Timmy, " in his little sing-songy " happy " voice. He insisted one night last week that I NOT cook the catfish I had taken out of the freezer. He more than insisted, he screamed and using his sign language made the " do not " sign. He also screamed out " DO NOT! " over and over. It was all very dramatic and I just threw the fish away. he was calm after that. My husband later told me he had left it in a bag with the fish in it in his truck overnight and only put it in the freezer to keep it from smelling until garbage day (thanks for telling me, honey). Then Friday happened. This was really odd -- like twilight zone odd. My sister came to visit. Every time she stepped outside on the deck to smoke, Boone would stand at the door screaming. We couldn't figure out what was wrong with him. Later that night, my sister slipped on the deck stairs. She broke one arm and the other was badly bruised. This has us a little on edge because there is a friend of ours who Boone likes very much. Everytime he leaves the house for the past few weeks, Boone runs screaming into his room crying, " Oh no! " over and over. Boone isn't the sort to suffer any separation anxiety whatsoever, so we don't think that's the problem. The problem is, how do we tell our friend that we have a feeling something awful is about to happen to him without sounding like loons??? Sorry this was so long, but I have a lot of things I can't talk to anyone about. It's very frustrating. I really think I'm losing it. I know Boone is.
