Maybe it is just me but isn't it a privacy issue when on the ADA

Community Listserve it tells the last time you were on. You didn't

have to post but if you check it will say when you were on last...

Does that bother anyone else? I guess if you need an alibi that would

be to your advantage BUT...

I didn't notice. It doesn't really matter to me, bc maybe they'll realize

how seldom most people visit. Digna

I reacted the same way. It feels a bit like " big brother " is watching us.

That's a pretty standard component of " forums " .

What I keep looking for is the hot button I can click and just see the " new

posts since last visit " .

I have dropped out of it and don't even attempt it when I get the email. Too

time consuming, too cumbersome for me. I have to have the instant rewards

for my efforts dt my lack of time, so can't brouse or linger. Mostly I did

not find anything of interest so stopped going in. IF you try it and find

something worth reading let me know.

Agree with Digna. I was popping in to it daily, but few new

postings and even fewer that are interesting. On a positive note,

this list server feels like home again.

Is it growing enough to check in more often?

I had subsribed to receive the daily notifiation. Averages 1-3 new posts

daily. Today there were 4 -- bonanza. ADA stated that HOD was using this

form and it was 'very successful.' Suspect that " very successful', to

ADA, means little/no usage; reduced communication among RDs/DTRs means

reduced ability to network, organize protests, post petitions or

surveys. Success is all in how you define it.....

It is interesting that when we do hear from the ADA team, it is via a

post or forward to rd-usa@yahoogroups or one of the DPG group lists.

I am enrolled in the Diet Community but I haven't found anything yet

to engage me. I get the once weekly post, which I read but nothing

yet entices me to log in. Does anybody know (care) if passwords

expire? Raphaela

Oh! I've had reprimands from that list also when I first joined it, and was

as shocked as you were. I was having a nice discussion with a couple of

others, nothing big, definitely on-topic, but it must have gone on longer

than someone thought appropriate or of interest, and so we were seriously

reprimanded. I was still very active in the old dietetics-L as well as

CD-HCF forum, so imagine my surprise at receiving that post. I felt like I

was back in first grade with the nuns, speaking out of turn, or having to go

to the bathroom and nobody was paying attention and then getting into

trouble for interrupting, or wiggling in my seat. So, in my usual way, I

over-reacted and nailed them with a few choice responses. I was surprised

not to have been banned forever.

At one time, ADA stated there were around 12K on dietetics-l; however,

before it went to Community, they stated there were only 2000. I've

really wondered about that.

There are close to 2000 on the Community now, and around 600 on rd-usa.

Maybe we could start " recruiting " from the various state and DPG lists!
