Guest guest
this sounds like either a food allergy that is in common some veggie that was in all the soups...(what is in these...are YOU making them or are they store bought??? or it may be a stool back up issue.....beware if he is a mito kid being that sick can make him go down quickly, i would go to the hospital and have some labs down to be sure he is ok, he may be backed up Recovering from Autism is a marathonNOT a sprint, but FULLY possible!Read more about it on my BLOGs athttp://www.myspace.com/christelkinghttp://foggyrock.com/MyPage/recoveringwisheshttp://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=677063169 stomach bug - need help! Hi parents,I suspect that my son came down with a stomach flu. He had his veg soup for dinner and followed w/ supps as usual. He then went to our bed and started to dance/jump. Before bed time, he took zinc and was ready for bed. Though he wanted to eat muffin (made w/ almond flour). So we gave them to him. Say around 3 am ish, he asked to go poo and we took him. Instead of that, he vomitted. This is the third time in the past 3-4 weeks ago due to his cold but this time seems to last longer (a day). What came out last night was all veg + the muffins (flour). He has been wanting to go poo but couldn't. And often touched his belly and said hurt. As for this morning, we decided to continue with his supps. We gave him probio before his plain chix soup and followed w/ his vit c, mag buffer, clo, super nu. Soon after this, he vomitted again. This time it was just water. He then took a nap, got up and seemed to be better. We decided to continue w/ the supps as usual and soup (plain chicken broth). He vomitted again and didn't want to eat anything. He only drinks water, not a lot. And he hasn't have his dinner/supps yet.As far as his behavior, he is at his low engergy, calm, quiet. Since he doesn't eat anything, I wonder if we still give him his supps? Should I stop until he feels better again? And if you have any food suggestions how to care for him since he isn't eating much.My son is on a basic supps (calcium, vit c, magnesium buffer, clo, super nu, zinc, dmg, enzyme complete, pro bio goal, Acid (probio) and Klaire lab Factor 4 (probio)) until we receive his OAT, Urine, hair, stools, GI results. Sorry for a long post. And I also apologize if you receive the same message again. I'm desperate for inputs, tips that you may have. Many thanks.Amber No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG - http://www.avg.com Version: 8.0.176 / Virus Database: 270.10.2/1876 - Release Date: 1/5/2009 9:44 AM
Guest guest
This bug is going around. My son had it too. He had a cold for along time. We almost had to take him to the hospital. Like a week later, he was vomiting, lethargic, etc. He is fine now. We cut back on supps, and I just gave him his SNT and Vit. Guest guest
Appreciated your inputs. I made the soup myself from broth that I cooked for hours. The veg that I added are brocolli, cabbage and cooked carrots. All org. He had these before and didnt seem to have any reactions. As for his bm, with the help of the mag/vit c buffer, he poops everyday or skips a day. Since I emailed the group, he didn't want to drink water or eat anything. I think he us afraid to vomit again. May I ask, what is a mito kid? Thanks Christel.Amber this sounds like either a food allergy that is in common some veggie that was in all the soups...(what is in these...are YOU making them or are they store bought??? or it may be a stool back up issue.....beware if he is a mito kid being that sick can make him go down quickly, i would go to the hospital and have some labs down to be sure he is ok, he may be backed up Recovering from Autism is a marathonNOT a sprint, but FULLY possible!Read more about it on my BLOGs athttp://www.myspace.com/christelkinghttp://foggyrock.com/MyPage/recoveringwisheshttp://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=677063169 stomach bug - need help! Guest guest
I suggest higher carb drinks because he needs glucose for energy & electrolytes. Also, be careful trying to give him foods he likes when he's vomiting it back up, you don't want him to create negative associations with it. Guest guest
I know that zinc is best taken in the evening without food but many kids can not tolerate it that way, it is hard on their tummies, I give my son's capsule zinc with his dinner for this reason. I am not sure if that is the problem but maybe you can try to give the zinc with some food. I also give my son a liquid zinc twice a day with meals. Guest guest
Thanks. My son doesnt take zinc in am. He has 2 tsp (he is 5.5 and 45lbs) before bed. Will it be ok to give zinc + cal, vit c/mag buffer, super nu, clo all together after dinner? I understood it can't be taken along with cal? Am I understand it correctly? Guest guest
You need to give the zinc separately, as it will compete with cal/mag for absorption. Many thanks.Amber No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG - http://www.avg.com Version: 8.0.176 / Virus Database: 270.10.2/1876 - Release Date: 1/5/2009 9:44 AM No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG - http://www.avg.com Version: 8.0.176 / Virus Database: 270.10.3/1879 - Release Date: 1/6/2009 5:16 PM nt-size: 100%; line-height: 122%; } #ygrp-sponsor .ad a{ text-decoration: none; } #ygrp-sponsor .ad a:hover{ text-decoration: underline; } #ygrp-sponsor .ad p{ margin: 0; } o{font-size: 0; } .MsoNormal{ margin: 0 0 0 0; } #ygrp-text tt{ font-size: 120%; } blockquote{margin: 0 0 0 4px;} .replbq{margin:4} --> No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG - http://www.avg.com Version: 8.0.176 / Virus Database: 270.10.3/1879 - Release Date: 1/6/2009 5:16 PM
