Guest guest
I posted this yesterday at 10 A.M. and have not seen it show up yet so here it is again. Rod/Tx Well I went to the Spine Clinic on 08/08/08 as I usually do every 3 to 4 months and I asked about the results of my MRI that my Primary doctor sent me in for. They looked it up in the computer and told me my L1 is 25% crushed. L3, L4, L5 and S1 have Degenerative Disk Disease. They didn't say what happens next other than I need to lose all this weight. My Primary says they won't pay to do the Lap Band but the Spine Doctor has sent a referal to see if they will do it under these circumstances. Has anyone else had a crushed vertebrae? If so what do they usually do? Rod/Tx.
Guest guest
Rod, Who won't pay for the lapband and why? If you have Medicare, they'll pay for it. I had mine approved, but then couldn't do it as I'm allergic to silicone. Maybe you need a different Gastro to help you? I don't have a crushed vertebrae, but I do have Stenosis in my lumbar area and neck and I have DDD. Guest guest
I'm on a county hospital program because of my income and lack of insurance, I've been told that they won't pay for this procedure by my primary doctor. I'm hoping that with the referal from my spine doctor that they will do it. Guest guest
Rod, I sure hope so too. That just stinks that you can't get service because of the type of benefits you have. The medical " professionals " have become all about the money and not about caring for patients. They put money over a patients care. A friend of my son's grandfather is dying with terminal cancer because he has no insurance to cover the chemo. I guess he isn't retirement age yet and doesn't have Medicare. That just stinks. They could donate some time and the rich drug companies could donate the drugs. There is just no call for a persons life to be wasted like that and them left to die because of lack of insurance or funding. It's just terrible. ~Tommie~ www.myspace.com/tommiejj PH, CFS, FMS, Diabetes, Sleep Apnea, Restless Leg Syndrome Don't waste energy second-guessing what you're missing or what can go awry.
