I, along with another RD had a run in with him too.

unscientific nutrition-related stories and products) colloidal minerals, Lemmon

Well, I wrote him an email asking what credentials he had to be claiming that he

was the number 1 nutritionist. He bantered back and forth with me wondering

what my credentials were and how boring my life must be b/c I am an RD. He then

offered me a spot to come speak on his radio show, which I declined. Then as

another RD started to email him as well, he started to become vulgar and

threatening, to which we both stopped writing to him. He claimed that he had 3

phd's, but never said where they were from, etc. . o O ( I wonder if I still

have that email. )

Although given the present circumstances it feels a bit inappropriate to be

criticising a recently decreased person, it must be said that he was an

incredible bullcrap artist. Just about anything he said was nonsense and an

attempt to promote himself, and inevitably tried to bully anyone who tried to

question him. Either that, or support himself by arguing a typical appeal to

false authority such as telling people how successful and famous he and his

former porn star wife were, and that anybody who dared to question him must

simply be jealous of his " sucess " .

Here are a few great quotes from his correspondance with me;

" You are a con and a fraud "

" if I catch wind of my name being mentioned in relation to you, trust me,

Australia cannot hide you. "

" You have proven yourself a loser "

" I can get your phone number, I have friends in Oz "

" I am also just a tad bit more successful in numerous more areas than you. "

" I have interviews with friends and former colleagues of the Quackwatch

people but aside from their occasional over the top behavior, I dig them so I

never released anything. " (being a subscriber to the healthfraud listserve, I

find that one particularly interesting)

" I own 120 websites and each see over a million hits a month. I am married to

a famous and beautiful woman. We live on the beach quietly expecting our first

child in Hawaii. I own a magazine... I enjoy life and keep things simple... "

" PS What medical school did you attend? Mine was in Southern California...

Try not to jump to conclusions, you might trip... " (it's difficult to determine

porecisely what this means, but had he have graduated with a medical degree,

I'm sure it would be mentioned all over the thousands of web pages he has

littered up. I think he briefly studies some kind of sports " medicine " before

flunking out)

Yep, he continuously tried the jealousy thing, and how he was in the process of

deciding what house he would spend his summer at etc... Interestingly enough I

was trying to find any other articles on his death and came across one that

questioned whether or not it was true... It said there was no report of a jeep

overturning near Las Vegas and how his wife is begging for money, but always

bragged about her financial wizardry etc. Who knows.....

Not surprisingly, after Orac made this article, Lemmon found it not long

after. He regularly searched the internet for his name, so anyone ona forum

anywhere who mentioned anything critical about him would be hearing from him

soon after.

He also used to regularly spam website owners to exchange links, promising

them 60,000 hits a day if they did.

Interesting article. Hard to believe that a couple of months ago I was in an

email war with this guy and now he's gone. Just goes to show you that you have

to enjoy every day.

Also, as you read his response to Orac, it's somewhat polite. When he emails

you privately, you see such a different person. Using every vulgar word there

is to degrade you.
