Guest guest
Sharon, I'm totally fine with the word "medical" in the name, not that it makes any difference how I feel about it at this point, since, as you say, the incorporation is done! "Medical" is a fairly general word comprising most of health care and its treatment of patients. And I like the look of the logo very much. I just think it might look funny on my nurse practitioner-only website if it says "doctors". So if I could use a version that doesn't have that line underneath, that would be great. It doesn't have to say anything else. By the way, I haven't yet had a chance to thank everyone at the IMP meeting for the massive amount of help and inspiration I received. I've never been among a nicer group of professionals at any convention, ever. Everyone was warm and welcoming, just terrific, both new and experienced, and I learned so much. I hope I can afford to go back east next year! Had some excitement today -- although I think this will get a mixed reaction. My United Healthcare contract arrived in the mail!! It's my first commercial insurer contract. Yayyy!!!! I know a lot of you don't like United, and it will be very interesting to see how I feel about them in six months, but this means pretty immediate growth of my practice since I have several large families that are planning to come to me as soon as I appear on their provider panels, and United is one of those. Thanks, Deanna Tolman, FNP I would say, as board member, that these issues (not using "doctor" on the logo) will certainly be considered when we are deciding on the "branding" logo. I believe the logo that started this part of the discussion is actually not being actively used and was sort of posted by accident. So, I hear the concerns and will make sure they are considered, but don't think it is a worry now. On the other hand, I guess if folks aren't happy with "medical" in the idealmedicalpractices, that is a problem as that is the name we incorporated under. I thought the logo put up was the one we use -- do we need to email about this? The idea with a logo is uniting people for a common cause or enterprise, and helping the public understand that someone (Dr. or NP or dentist) with the logo on his/her website/business believes in and practices the ideals of the larger group. We need to continue bringing the group together if we want to be stronger... we all need to use the same logo toward that purpose...I think different wording makes the group seem like we are fractured into separate parts/entities, when in fact we are all IMPs. And after talking many folks at camp, we all want the same things for our practices, our lives and our patients. Identifying with the "greater good" of the entire group is in all our best interests. In the next year, you will see more posts and information about the mission of our IMP community as we decide how to proceed with advocacy and saving primary care. For the record, I don't like "provider" either -- sounds like I am feeding a community or something... just doing my job...Hope everyone has recovered from camp!a Garrido, ARNPwww.villagefamilyclinic.com> >> >I'd like to use the logo on my website, too. Could we have a variation without > >the word "doctors" for those of us who aren't? How about "Different, Better, > >Health Care" or something like that. There are dentists and other kinds of > >professionals in the group. > >> >>> >>Deanna, FNP> >>> >>> >> > >>>Here is the logo in different formats â€" hopefully one of them works for you. > >>> Eads, MD> >>>Pinnacle Family Medicine> >>>Colorado Springs, CO> >>>www.PinnacleFamilyMedicine.com> >> >> >-- > >PATIENTS-please remember that email may not be entirely secure, and that Email > >is part of the medical record and is placed into your chart ( be careful what > >you say!)> >Email is best used for appointment making and brief questions> >Email replies can be expected within 24 hours-Please CALL if the matter is > >more urgent .> >> >> >   MD> >   > >   > >ph   fax > >impcenter.org> >> >>
