Guest guest
I am going to refer your question to Chris. I am sure he knows alot more about low Aldosterone than I do. >>I am taking about 3/4 of a teaspoon of Celtic Sea Salt a day. I am at 17.5mg of HC and have been on it a total of 10 days. No more thyroid dumping as of the last 4 days so I can go up. My doc only gave me 17.5mg as a prescription but I have my own. I am 5'10 " and weigh 185. Don't tell anyone! I do look pretty good thought! :-)) You do think my blood pressure is too low? How will I know if I need Florinef? I have not had my Aldosterone tested. Will that tell me if I need it? Is that a blood test? Duh...I have read so much here I should know that. So, if my Aldosterone is low then I need Florinef? I want to be totally educated before I go back to see my doctor since she is so new and green. She has gone with everying I have asked of her so far. Thanks for your time. a<< -- Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV My Ebay Jewelry Store http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations The BEST thyroid website! http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Hey, This isn't but I thought I'd jump in anyways, having HAD (hehehe) low aldosterone myself. The low blood pressure is a good sign that it is low. Dizzy spells, sudden weakness, frequent urination, muscle twitches, craving salt, feeling better lying down than standing up, getting dizzy and seeing black spots when you stand up and passing out are also good signs. If you have a blood pressure machine at home, lay down and rest for about five minutes and take your blood pressure while still lying down. Then stand up and immediately take your blood pressure again. It should go up -- if it stays the same you might have low aldosterone, if it goes down you almost definately are low. Also, if you've had a blood panel done recently look at the sodium and potassium levels. Low aldosterone will cause low sodium and high potassium -- it will also cause salty urine as all the salt you eat runs right through you. Insist on having it tested next time you see your doctor too -- it's one of those things that's so commonly overlooked but very important. It made all the difference in the world for me. Best of luck, Jen ps. It is a blood test -- I doubt (though am not sure) it can be tested with saliva > > I am going to refer your question to Chris.
