Home Invasion

My husband has been gone for over a week now as I stated before. He

will be gone almost all month. I have been gone busy doing things

almost every night to keep busy. Last night was the first night I

stayed at home. The annoying neighbor kid came to see if my kids

could play I reluctantly said yes. I left my keys in the front door

(we have the kind that you need a key to open it from both the

inside and outside) I also left the garage door open. We were in and

out of the house for about an hour. I also visited with another

neighbor the one who is not crazy. It was time to get a bath and get

ready for bed so I called the kids in. I took my keys out of the

door and placed them in my purse which was on the counter and went

about my business and watered the plants put the kids in the tub I

had the radio going so it was loud. On my way up to the second floor

after watering the plants I saw my key was detached from my ring and

in the door. Somebody had come in my house while we were in there

and dug in my purse.(it was not possible for a child to do this an

adult would have a hard time it was a new key ring) I think they had

the intention to intimidate only because we were never attacked and

nothing was stolen. I took my children immediately to the non crazy

neighbors and we called the police. The police were there within 2

minutes and walked in the house with me to check on things. Nothing

was missing at all. Only one key was removed from the ring and

placed on another ring which I didn't own and it was placed in my

door I think to make the point that they were in my home. I felt

very violated. My husband is coming home tonight. After I talked to

my husband we decided to change the locks and get a security system

as well. 2 things that we are talking about but are not set in stone

are getting a dog and taking a hand gun course. I was concerned

about getting a dog because we like to travel but we have many close

family members who would be more that happy to bring the dog to

their farms or homes while we are gone. I can think of 4 off the top

of my head that live in the country and are animal lovers and would

be willing to help. And as for the hand gun course I can take the

course but I don't necessarily have to purchase a gun if I don't

want to. It can be up to my discretion but it never hurts to take a

class. I have my suspicions who would do this but I can't say for

sure. I do know who has a good view of my house and a good view of

me at all times. But they underestimate me I have dealt with crazy

my whole life. I won't take this laying down. So I am planning and

getting my family secure, locks, systems, dogs, self-defense, gun

control whatever it takes.I even called the court house today for a

background check info on certin people around here. I don't care I

have nothing to hide if they want to play hard ball lets play. I

informed the police and they drive by my house about every 15 min on

a daily basis. I am ready. I am not going to be a victim.
