Guest guest
Well, my boyfriend and I just finished our second week of our joint " Challenge " . He's down nearly 10lbs, and I'm back down some, too. I'd gained a little back (5-6lbs) over the time I was out of town and away from the gym, but that's all gone. Yay! I might add. We take our measurements tomorrow, so I don't know where those are at yet. His workout pants won't stay up very well, so I know he's lost some inches somewhere in light of the fact that they were tight when we started out. He's pretty proud of himself (as am I of him) for 1) quitting smoking, 2) taking vitamins, 3) eating much MUCH healthier 4) quitting Mountain Dew except for free days and 4) not missing any workouts. I've been eating very, very clean, the consequence of which the last few days has been dreams about what I'm going to have on a free day... two pizza dreams this week. Sheesh. So, we're going out for pizza tonight to a place that makes an awesome garlic chicken pizza. I haven't had one since... jeez, last year?!? I think. Speaking of last year, I am very happy to be rolling into my next birthday about 40lbs down from my last one. I put a picture in my photo file from last Christmas; it is one of the two I did not erase immediately after seeing them. I can't tell you all how nice it is NOT to have to run and hide from cameras. My only " complaint " is that as the weather gets colder, I'm finding it harder and harder to find things in my closet (sweaters) that aren't tent-like on me. Oh well, better than what WAS happening when things kept mysteriously getting " too small. " I'm a little bummed that my nearly brand new ski outfit from a couple years ago is now nearly two sizes too big, but... lots of room to layer under it I guess. Well, this has been long enough... hope you all are having a great weekend! -Lianne
Guest guest
You both should be very proud! I think it is about time you got a few new clothes. Even if you haven't reached your goal, you need to show off what you have accomplished so far. Good complaint to have though! We went to the outlet malls about an hour away this weekend and shopped for stuff. Bought some clothes. Found a new store called Marshalls that was awesome and had great prices and good brands. Guest guest
Thanks again all. Yesterday afternoon I was feeling so much better, that I really thought I might go home today. However, I'll wait to see the doctor, but I feel much more short of breath today. So we will see. LOL. I really don't have time for this crap this week. I have to get christmas shopping done! Guest guest
Sorry again for not being around much. I've been so busy with school, the granddaughter, and stuff it's hard to find much me time. I'm taking time right now. I've been battling the bronchitis bad lately. I've had it so much this year that the doctor at the Urgent Care clinic is now saying call it chronic. Then he dropped the other shoe on my head. He said with chronic asthma + the chronic bronchitis = COPD. I knew he was going to say it before he did but I still dreaded hearing it. It's still mild and we're trying to keep it that way. I haven't been able to shake this sometimes body racking cough, so the doctor I saw today, (yes I had to make another trip and miss a day of classes because I felt hideous this morning), put me on a strong expectorant/bronchodilator med and changed the antibiotic I was taking. If the breathing problems weren't bad enough, and guys I don't mean to be too personal here, my bladder has dropped down and I may have to have surgery to put it back up. The coughing is starting to hurt because it causes a lot of pressure, and if the coughing is really spasmodic, I will wet myself. Anyway, I have to keep myself reasonably healthy with final exams at school coming up next week and Christmas around the bend. Ok, it does feel a little better to get it all out and have people who care and support me around. Madeline, I'm sorry to hear you've been so sick again. I hope you get well quickly. Take care all. I'm fine, still coughing a bit but feeling some better. Our weather hear in Northeast Tennessee has been crazy. It was really windy yesterday and the wind blew a bunch of stuff off my mom's back deck. She was standing at the back door watching my brother pick stuff up out of the yard and a wind gust jerked the door. She lost her balance and fell. We thought she'd damaged her knee replacement, but the x-rays showed it to be fine. She did break the femur, which is the thighbone for those not familiar with bone names, above that knee. She had surgery last night for them to insert a rod and screws to fix the break. I called a bit ago to check on her and she's fine this morning, although in pain.I'm glad you're doing a bit better.
