Guest guest
I'm BACK!!!! My DH drove us home the 10 hour trip yesterday. I can't believe how daily I felt better. I would've never imagined even Tuesday being able to travel on Thursday. But travelling was no problem. The bumps didn't hurt at all - it was the curves that bothered me. I would hold tight to my stomach with my pillow. So, just a little low down from another perspective. First of all, I can't imagine trying to do as much as you did - you are a great recoverer - unlike me - a woos!LOL After surgery Monday AM, I went to recovery where they tried their hardest to wake me up. I was not a willing party! I was so doped up! So when they put me in a recliner to take me to the next stage of recovery, my DH had to be the one working on waking me up. He'd feed me a few chunks of ice and I'd fall back to sleep. They were trying to get me enough awake to transfer me back to the motel. Needless to say, I have very few memories of that afternoon. I just remember being glad to get back in bed. I think if I were to have been able to change my mind at that point, I would've opted for the overnighter in the hospital. Hospital you get to keep the IV in - thus no worry of deydration if you don't drink - you get to keep the pain meds flowing through the IV, rather than orally. All the oral stuff made me nauseated. Therefore, I never did pop a pain pill. I stuck with tylenol and advil. Really, that was plenty for pain. Daily I felt better - but COULD NOT and I REPEAT COULD NOT have done it without my DH!!!! He was so patient with me and nursed me in ways he had never even nursed our sick children before!!! He held my hair when I was sick, cleaned up my mess - he was INCREDIBLE!!!! I was and am so grateful for the man that the Lord gave me - he really shined this week! I didn't really deal with the gas pains that talked about, but do really recommend especially after talking to Dr. L. yesterday that you pre-TR patient's stick to a liquid diet that first week. I avoided spices and dairy, and soft drinks but rather than gas, I got to be nauseated! And that was horrible! Sorry to be so graphic - just trying to be helpful to those who are in the countdown stage. Needless to say, all said and done - I am a whole woman again with enough tube on both sides to make babies!!! I will definitely be keeping you posted of my ttc progress very soon!!! I purchased the book the week before I left, " Taking Charge of Your Fertility " and have it almost all read. So, I'm ready to chart as soon as AF arrives - looking for her next week. So the timing is good. My prayers are with you Elda. I'll be calling you this evening or tomorrow! God Bless! Sorry this was so long - I'm not good at short narratives!LOL Jackie
