I've weaned myself off HC, and am now taking 2 pellets Isocort. I plan to wean myself off them as this bottle gets used up. I'm not sure where I'll be adrenals-wise after that, but I've looked at 's site and products a few times. Did you have a positive experience? Negative? I would think his products would work if you didn't have extreme Adrenal Fatigue, like I did. They siad this is a sigh of adreanl problems. So my doc told me to go to health food store and get somthing for my adreanls. Not sure what to get. In wilsons book there is a number where you can find a doc that deals in adreanl problems. Wonder if I should check that out? I am very upset and need to find somthing. Guest guest Posted June 25, 2006 Report Share Posted June 25, 2006 Steph, I couldn't handle raising the Armour either until I got on Cortef. It is working good for me now. I just was not on enough. Both test from Great Smokies showed severe Adrenal Fatigue. I now take it 4 times a day. 10 - 10 - 5 - 5. I can't take it close to bedtime or I don't sleep. I started out slowly raising it though. I am up to 6 gr of Armour. If I take less my fingers go numb. I can't hold the phone to my ear without my hand and fingers " going to sleep " so to speak. I have a prescription now. Thank goodness I finally found a good NP that is close to me. But, I have not convinced her yet that I need 6 gr of Armour. Still working on that! LOL Get the source from for HydroC. Great Smokies is a very good lab that did my saliva testing, but you have to have a DR prescript for this lab. I would have testing done first though. ZRT is another good lab and you can do this yourself. They do my sex hormone testing. I am on 6.5 grains Armour and 60MCG T3. ANd 30MCG Hydrocortisone. Most people can get by wiht just 20MG HC and that will not permanently suppress Adrenal function, actually, 30MG is not likely to either but the amount you need depends on your adrenal status to begin wiht. I started having very dry brittle hairloss and depression after the birth of my son and he is eleven! Went to doc after doc fianally found one who siad I needed thyroid meds. Well was on armour for three mounths and hairloss got much worse! And loss to much weight etc. Anyway I have been off thyroid for three weeks now feel better but I know I need it I feel helpless! Anyway found a doc willing to put me on hyrocortison but know one has even tested me for adreanl problems they just siad that is the reason I reacted to the thyroid meds the way I did so they siad I had adreanl problems???? How is your weight now? Not to down play weight problems but I think I would prefer to have that than the hair issue. I am 5'10 and was a size 10 when I went on the thyroid for three months went down to a size six. To small for my frame. Do you think I should have my adreanls tested before I start the hydro or just try it out first and see what happens?
