Guest guest
I gained 60 pounds during my pregnancy and when my daughter was 3 months, I think I still had at least 20 pounds left. It seemed when she turned 6 months that I had lost it all! Now she is 8 months, and I'm 5 pounds under pre-pregnancy weight. She was (and almost still is) exclusively breast fed also. Just hang in there. I think the body wants to hang on to the fat for reserves, hormone production, etc. Congratulations on the new baby! Hi there - I have a question for you guys. I had a baby 3 months ago and I am exclusively breastfeeding. It's been wonderful! My question is why am I holding onto the last 20 pounds of pregnancy weight I gained? According to the lactation consultant that I have been visiting in a breastfeeding support group, she states that some women hang onto their weight to help produce the milk. I have heard of this, but 20 POUNDS! I have not been dieting, but eating very healthy and exercising (walking 45 - 50 minutes 4 times a week)- with absolutely no results for the past 10 weeks. I'm not expecting miracles - I do realize that it has only been 3 months since I gave birth, but no results for 10 weeks - isn't this odd? It's been quite discouraging. Any feedback and suggestions would be most appreciated. Guest guest
Everyone experiences plateau, even just regular wt loss clients. I never fit in my old jeans. And my weight was the same, but my pelvis spread some. Some of your weight could also be heavier bone mass depending on what you were at prior to your pregnancy. I personally would enjoy my new child and quit worrying about a number that will change all of your life for the most part. The weight will come off if you take care of yourself. And this is the time to start doing it! Dawn Privett, KCMO Sharon de a Pena wrote: I was exclusively breastfeeding and it took exactly 9 months for me to fit in my favorite jeans again.
