Guest guest
, my therapist is carefull never to diagnose me with anything, but the more I hear about PTSD, the more I think it might apply to my experience. I was almost unable to function at work last year and have always been extremely jumpy and defensive--especially when sleeping. GOD it was miserable, just miserable. Most of the progress I made was slow and gradual and involved working hard on digging up the feelings and thoughts that were causing me to feel so afraid or leap out of my bed in terror at night. First, more distance from my nada (which I think you have) and Second, more distance from some of those nasty, self-critical thoughts that I pretty much had every second. As for the EMDR, I don't know. Guest guest
Hi , Yes.. I had that kind of therapy many years ago.. I was having PTSD after someone I loved had completed suicide.... and my therapist at the time suggested this therapy. It was very easy from what I remember. ... and I think it did lessen the PTSD ... even enough for me to be able to travel to see an opera... in which the main character shoots himself and sings through the end of the opera until he dies. The odd thing about that opera was that I was pretty ok as I sat and watched it.. I didn't have to get up and run out of the theatre.. but, oh I did get physically sick afterwards. I'm wondering if that was my body's way of reacting to the situation anyway... even though I didn't have a big emotional reaction. all the best if you decide to try it... or have tried it. twin.less .
