Re: Off Celexa, still no sex drive

Hi DK,

This is something that has come up a few times. Having a lack of

emotion and decreased sex drive is common after stopping SSRIs. It

has been more than a year since i've stopped and i still have those

problems. Sometimes it takes a year or more for your brain to

recover to the changes SSRIs have made to it.

this group rarely promotes drugs of any kind, and chances are they

can't help your problem, the only thing that can do that is time and

nutrition.

Thanks Joe. Celexa also screwed up my hormone levels a bit, raising

my estrogen levels which decreased testosterone. I got this under

control by taking the herbal supplement DIM and now my hormones are

normal for my age. But what I didn't know is that the core of the

problem is my brain chemistry.

So it seems like you're in the same boat as me...

I think that the reason it takes so long to get better is its justnot

a matter of certain chemical balance being restored, but also

restoring different structures physically damages by the drugs.
