The problem is your level of anxiety when seeing the doc. You need to address the anxiety not the BP. Just so people know, as a vasodilator, Ginko is useful in lowering blood pressure. Don't look for miracles. It will lower it a few points. Please tell me exactly how you feel when you go to the doctor's office. Does it begin only when you see the BP cuff or is it the visit itself? Guest guest
Hi catherine, I am going to try to explain it. I hope I am not writing too much but I am praying as I do so hoping I will say the right things to attune you to what is going on and from where.. I am not sure exactally where it started , I know that I did alot of inner child work with therapy after the paxil and discovered that I had had trauma when I was a child with the hospital and dr.s , had tonsils out and believe there were complications and had an outer body experience as a child durring surgury .. this came out durring the many years of inner child work ) we also believe sexual abuse before 2 years old... .. When I first got the symptoms of the withdrawl of paxil I went to so many dr.s and specialists. I was turned upside down (litterally ) and had so many tests that made me dizzier.. I was also made to do habituation exercises daily and with them never knowing when I would have a vertigo attack that would disable me for the day. I didnt get vertigo every time it usually was one time out of 2 months of the exercises .. but it got to the point that it was pure torture to do them , the fear was so so intense because when it would hit and comeout of the blue the disequalibrium was horrendous and I would litterally shake because of the fear involved . I can only describe it as not knowing where i was in time or space. To this day I dont roll over in bed , or lay flat . I just have that much fear that has come from this .. ( mind you I used to do yoga positions and exercises that were difficult and be very flexible ) I also Now after paxil , have an incredible fear of drugs and the side effects ( actually have had it before paxil because I was sensitve to meds and even told the dr that RXed the paxil ) So I get scared when I go to the dr. believing they may want to put me on meds and also something about the dr.s office possibly from all the tests I had and fear of them not understanding my sensitivity and maybe because NOT many believe the paxil did any of this and want to put me on other meds. .. With blood pressure I have been told that there are so many side effects of the blood pressure meds.. and dizziness being one of them . I get worried before i go in the office, I try to breathe and relax and even the dizziness gets worse in the office. ( I dont know if I explained but the dizziness with the rocking feeling also I have alot of intercranial pressure.. pushing and pulling inside my head ) I also get nervous that they will want me to lay flat on the table , I get the feeling that i am falling off the earth when I am laying flat. I pretty much feel like I am never touching the ground. and that the insides of me feet on up are always rocking and pulsing and levitated off the earth.. NOT GROUNDED!!. So just that feeling alone causes anxiety . add the drs. office and its worse. I USED TO BE SOOOOO GROUNDED>>>> what happened ... the blood pressure, I had it go very high with the mri.. when they gave xanax and it went down. it was 180/100 that day .. then at the dr.s followups after surgury it was 160/100. normally at home it is 130/80 and varys up 5 or so or down as low as 120/78 usually the 130's , but the last 2 days it went to 147/95 at home and that scared me. ( checked it later and was 136/83... Saying all this I realize it is jumping all over the place.. I know in the dr.s office I get panicy sometimes when explaining to the dr.s and almost feel like I may pass out , like I want to run out of there to get relief. Funny , saying this I realize that sometimes when I am really dizzy , I feel like I wish I could run away from the feelings in my body also.. before the paxil and the dizziness, I used to be able to do some self correction cranial sacral unwinding and myofacial release that my body learned somewhere and someother things like tichi that sort of intuitivly comes to me when I let it. I used to do this years ago and rid myself of stress and headaches etc. but now I cant lay or get in the positions that my body used to do to help myself because of the impending doom of the vertigo attacks and the dizziness...If I get in certain positions I feel like I am falling off the planet into a abyss..( I have tried to do it for hours at a time to try to rid the vertigo and it doesnt happen it is just frightful ) and I do get close to that feeling in the dr.s office . Reading this it sounds like I am insane and I know i am not .. thru therapy , we tried to rule out every thing including somaticizing. my therapist that knew me before paxil said that she knows that it had something to do with this. I know this is long .. and I hope it isnt confusing. if it is I would be happy to try to clarify more. I truly appreciate you taking the time to help me with this.. God bless you , nne Re: to catherine, confusion about ginko help please !!1 Dear nne, You said:<< I really need some help , I started taking ginko , I also started aherbal supplement called blood pressure factors by michaels.. Guest guest
HI catherine ,, I absolutley agree with you that I need to help the root of the problem , Just have tried so many things in the 6 years.. I am in agreement . and want to try the remedies that you feel are correct..... ..( and I am not presently going to any dr.s that are telling me to do things I dont agree with . just in the last years looking for a cure for the vertigo , I have been to about 14 dr.s and all different alternative practitioners also ) I also want you to know I did go to a shaman and we did soul retrievel also . ( but I hate to say it did remind me of the inner child work , very similar , maybe in the way I understood .. because in the inner child work it was all me doing it . I sat and meditated and went inside and talked to myself and let the inner me at varying levels journal and tell a story in order to heal ) Actually when I was done with the sould retrievel I spoke to a friend that really belives in it and I said .. it seems so similar to what I do and have done on my own for so many years...... I would love to try your remedies that you reccomend .. please tell me your address , or I will look for it..back in my files..... and send you my address.. I WANT TO THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR helping me.. God bless , nne Re: to catherine, confusion about ginko help please !!1 Dear nne, You said:<< I am going to try to explain it.
