Guest guest
Hi Patty, I don't believe Dr. Levin does ivf. Although I have never had an ivf, I will tell you what I know. They give you injections to stimulate your ovaries to produce a lot of eggs, they retrieve and fertilize them (with your dh sperm). The eggs divide, and after so many days they insert 3 or 4 of them back into you uterus, and hope they will implant. Even if your insuarnce covers ivf the chances are they don't cover the fertility meds. The meds are quite expensive sometmes up to $3000 for one cycle. Some fertility clinics won't accept anyone over the age of 35. The older you are the lower your chances of implantation. There is a lot of monitering going on with ivf, so you spend a lot of your time at the doctors office each cycle. I have a friend who has done 3 or 4 ivf's because her insurance covered it. It got to be too frustrating for her so she went the tubal reversal route. Having a tr seems to be a lot less work in the long run. Does your insurance cover a tr? You will have to let us know what you decide. > I found out that my insurance covers inv. Does Dr.L do ivf? and have > any of you been throught it? One more question what does it entail? > Sorry for all the questions. But I know I am asking the right group > of ladies and of course Dr.L. > Thanks, > Patty B

Guest guest
, I am not sure if the insurance will cover the tr or not I am checking into it. I am sure I am going to go with the tr whether they cover it or not. I have decided this only because I don't want to go through this again 5 years from now if I want another one. I am 29 and I don't know if we'll want another one or not. I told my dh that I didn't want to do the ivf, and he is ok with that. Thanks for your help. Guest guest
Patty: That is exciting that you are going with the tr. I think you will be a lot happier doing it that way, especially if you might want another one someday. Moe is very right, just because your insurance says they don't cover tr doesn't mean they won't. My insurance said they didn't and they ended up sending me a check for 80%.. So there is always hope. Good luck. > > I found out that my insurance covers inv. Guest guest
: Just keep thinking positive thoughts. Everytime you get a little nervous you have to think how good it will feel to be whole again. You will do fine. I promise... You are so lucky that Dr. Levin is going to do your tr. They will take great care of you. I have had to make a few trips to ky lately for my fertility treatment. I wish so much it would have happened to fall around the time of your surgery so I could visit you. My prayers will be with you. > Ladies, I'm getting really nervous. My date is July30. Guest guest
Hi , My date is for the 16th, geeez it's only a few days away!! Anyway, I was given advise on taking loose clothing, pillows and a phone card with lots of minutes. Pillows to help you when you have to cough and the phone card is for keeping in touch with your loved ones. I'm also going alone and I sure know how you feel. Take care, Elda > Ladies, I'm getting really nervous. My date is July30. I am going alone > from Boca Raton, Fl.
