I had a weird experience with versed one time. I usually become aware before I leave the hospital but one time I wasn't aware until we got home. Were getting ready to go eat when I realized what was going on. Didn't like that one bit. To much time not accounted for. Never no what you're missing, what you've said, or done. Like not remembering the procedure though. That part is a blessing.

For some reason the " amnesia " effect of versed doesn't seem to be very

effective on me. I can remember most of my first ERCP, and most of my

colonoscopy (Oh joy!), and my wife hasn't complained about me repeatedly

asking questions, although my memory of some of the conversations with

the doctors afterwards isn't too clear, and I only remember snatches

from my last couple EGDs.

I'll have to ask my wife if I said anything silly when I was on it!

athan - I've ALWAYS been awake for colonscopies (but with Versed and

Fentanyl) - no big deal.

Yeah... I was awake, but other than being mildly interested in the

pictures on the TV screen I didn't have any feelings at all about it

(physical or emotional)... I'm sure that wouldn't have been the case if

I'd been properly awake!

Arne,

I remember part of an early one (1988 or 1989, I

think) but my eyesight has gotten bad enough that it

is pointless to try and watch the screen -- it just

lookes like pink fuzz now. I figure I may as well

catch up on much-needed sleep instead!
