Guest guest
Hi Meniowl, I have a bread machine and use it all the time, I dont buy bread. There are 3 non-diabetics in my family, and they eat the bread I make. I limit myself to one slice a day, at breakfast time, usually as toast, sometimes just bread with a bit of lite peanut butter on it - enough to see and taste it! I would not give up my bread machine for anything. I now see my one measly lonely slice of bread as a treat - it's as good as it gets for me, who tries to low-carb. I dont care about potatoes or rice but I do love pasta and it bugs the hell out of me to not be able to have pizza or spaghetti etc. But I do have my one slice of bread, and it doesnt bother me at all. I walk (almost) every morning and my bg levels are in the normal range just about all of the time. Maybe you could try one slice a day and see how it affects you. It's a shame to deny yourself the wonderful breads you can create with your ABM. Grocery store bread doesnt interest me at all - I call it Kleenex bread - thin and tasteless! Boy, I sure can relate to this. The first time I went grocery shopping after dx I literally cried. Too many isles of can't have this and can't have that anymore. I really lost it in the bread isle. I would buy 3-5 loaves of bread at a time, plus I have a bread machine that made divine bread too. Just call me a bread-a-holic. I came home sooooo depressed. It's somewhat better now, but I still can't use that bread machine. : ( Meniowl@... type 2, dx 7/99, d & water aerobics & no bread Visit the British Saloon Car Club of Canada at: http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/7967
