MG and Flea, this is an interesting thread! I too had the experience

of having my nada invalidate complaints of sexual harassment or abuse.

I don't think I ever even bothered telling the FOO anything because

their beliefs were perfectly clear: women that claim they've been

abused or raped or whatever are lying and it was really their fault

anyway. The one time I did tell my dad about a weird older guy

following me on his bike while I was out for a run, my dad asked if I

hadn't encouraged the guy in some way(again implying that it was

perhaps my fault). It makes me mad.

To this day, everytime there is a case like this on TV, my nada has to

call me up and tell me all about it and explain how it's probably the

woman's fault. YIPES!

BECAUSE THEY ARE THE PREDATOR! I mean, my nada was not a rapist or

something, BUT, she was out to hurt people often. Also, that

rationalising is probably a flea she never got over from her nada--she

possibly still feels it's her fault she was abused.

I am truly sorry that you had to endure this. It is outrageous and

unacceptable!

I don't know if you are NC, but if not, perhaps stay clear of this

uncle, very creepy comments indeed.
