Maybe will answer . . . I don't think she reads

the group all the time . . . She lives in the Canary

Islands off Spain . . .

As I understand it, found a doctor near her who

willing to do the surgery en bloc. She also had a

lift. . . Whether or not the doctor was able to do the

en bloc, I don't know.

Hello Donna,

I live in the Canary islands and my surgeon came highly recommended and I checked to make sure that this one was properly qualified, unlike my surgeon who did the original implants.

I had everything removed including the capsular and had a lift at the same time.

This was necessary as I has Soja Trilucent implants in first and had to have them removed they then implanted me with Silicone. When the put the silicone implants in, they had removed lots of tissue so when they removed the Silicone, I had nothing much left in the way of tissue which would have left me just hanging, so to speak. I haven't much left, AA cup only but I really don't mind. Like you, I have symptoms from the very beginning.

Once I had had an Eco Scan proving that they were ruptured, I joined this wonderful site and began to self heal before my operation. I am certain that this has helped me heal so quickly and the surgeon is very impressed with my recovery/healing.

My main concern was my arms. I had dreadful itching/burning, skin eruptions, and my hands, well, I cannot begin to tell you. The itching has gone and also the eruptions!!! I also had chemical sensitivity and could not drink coffee, eat chocolate, white bread to name but a few. This is now not a problem though I am not being silly and have changed my diet considerably and am sticking to it. I am still taking the supplements religiously, NCD and L Glutamin being my favourite. Cochran is helping me with my skin by advising me of the correct supplements as my skin became loose and saggy having lost all elasticity and my muscles in my arms had wasted away.

The arthritis I was diagnosed with 4 years ago is also now gone!!! I thank the glutamin for this.

I am 2,1/2 weeks post explant and am almost back to normal. I have gone back to work but my surgeon will not let me drive yet though I dare say I would if my Sister would allow me to!!!

I am wearing lovely water bras during the day which gives me back my bust and I wear a sports bra for bed.

I have to say, I thought I was dying before I found out for sure that my implants had ruptured and although it is only a few months ago, it seems a life time away now when I was so sick.

There is hope out there Donna.

Please stay positive and strong. Just know that you will get better..............easy to say I know but I thought I would never get through this. In fact, had I not found this site, I don't think I would have. I would never have known how to self-heal and would not have been aware of the en-bloc procedure and my surgeon would have just removed the implants and not the capsular, which he wanted to do. I had to insist he took everything away!!

The surgeon now seems to hold me in great esteem. He is very impressed with me and knows I was right!!

You are in the RIGHT PLACE Donna to get well.

Hope this helps,

Love

.

Just curious to whom did you explant surgery. Did you get a lift or just removal and en-bloc?

I am so thankful that you are well so soon after ex plant. Yaaa OMG I can't wait. Thanks for giving me the strength I need to get through this. I wondered was you sick shortly after getting your implants in or did that come later on after implants ruptured. I would love to hear others stories on how they get so much better after implants are removed. I appreciate your support. I however won't be able to afford a lift, I am scared about that issue. I hope it doesn't look like empty socks or I may just die right then and there. I wonder does anyone else get a low grade fever every night like I do??

Thanks,

Donna

Lynda,

I bet you would be a great social worker for implant survivors. I been told I am crazy, nothing wrong with me but nerves. However, I never really had a care in the world since my divorce was final back in 1997. I was free from abusive relationship and I tell ya I was great from that day on until BA. I know I am not nervous at all. I tell DR's that and they still insist Saline is safe go see psycho Dr. I am exhausted! Thank God I found this site. I am getting Dr. Kolb to remove my implants on May 24th to see if I get well or not. I got good suspicion that I will get well after ex plant. I can't wait to see if I feel better. I am scared about the procedure but I hope it works for me. I got BA on Feb 22 2005, so have not had them that long. I have 33 symptoms and every test I take comes back normal. I am sick of being sick.

Thanks for the support girls I appreciate it so much,

Donna

Yes, isn't it wonderful how women can share and help each other

through this trauma. It just does this old social worker's heart some good.

Donna,

Give yourself a little time and do some basic detoxing, and I am sure

you will be much better within 6 months to a year, some are better much sooner.

Hi Donna,

Yes, I began with the itching immediately and then MCS. In a later post, you said you are getting small red, raised spots. I get these from my elbows down to my hands, worse on my hands. I have looked it up on the net and I believe it to be bleeding under the skin. If I knock if or rub or scratch the areas, they come up. They take days to go and look awful.

I was getting the hard skin, (thickening of the skin) across my knuckles, since explant, this is beginning to soften and I am hoping it just gets better and better. The itching in my arms and the prickly burning sensation has certainly improved ten fold, no more sleepless nights either. I had eruptions on my arms similar to Christene, these dissapeared overnight and I haven't had one since. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

I have never experienced low grade fever though but I know Christene has.

Is it Sherry who is having trouble with her bones??

Well, I was having the same problems. In three months I was at casualty three times, twice my foot gave way and I was strapped up and on crutches and then my thumb joint gave way. The pain is indescribable. The hospital was baffled. Then I developed a abcess at the top of my leg and couldn't walk. All this happened so quickly and it was then I knew I was falling to pieces. I thought I was dying too like so many of you must feel.

I was sick of the specialists not finding anything conclusive and I knew in my own mind that it was the implants. After my Eco Scan, detailing the ruptures I decided to sort my self out.

I began taking the supplements recommended on this site along with L Glutamin in a high dose and after three weeks, my arthritic pains had almost gone, certainly to a point where they did not restrict me in any way. Now I am explanted and still taking the supplements I have never felt so well. I no longer feel sick inside. I still have a long way to go in order to get back to how I was before explant but I know I will get there eventually. My biggest fight is to build up my wasted arm muscles and improve the elasticity in the skin but this will come as soon as I can begin excersising again.

Hang on in there Donna, you too Sherry. You have an advantage over me in that you are in your own country. I am in a foreign country and don't fully understand the language and have no knowledge of the best doctors and hospitals but I have muddled through.

The other nice thing is, people say I look fab and better with small boobs, more suiting to my size. Small boobs are an understatement but I don't honestly mind and my partner certainly doesn't. I only let him look briefly last night for the first time. He wasn't here when I had the operation but I took some photos after three days when the bandages came off, it wasn't a pretty site but I wanted him to see them and then I decided to show him how I looked now. He had only seen my in nice bras so didn't really know. He said I was beautiful!!! My Sister tells me I am beautiful on the inside as well as the outside and that its more important to be beautiful on the inside and she is right.

Oh, by the way, I received an e mail from Christene yesterday. She is still with us but think she is having a few personal problems right now which may be the reason she hasn't been posting much.

I am waiting for her to post me her phone number so I can call her. What a lovely girl she is.

Love

You are truly an inspiration to the women coming here for help. I'm

so happy to hear that you're doing so well. Thanks for the update

on Christene, too - I had the feeling she was going through alot and

that's why we haven't seen her. Tell her we've been asking about

her.

One thing I'm wondering about - I used to highlight my hair, and

haven't had it done for about a year because I was worried that my

body might react negatively. One of my friends owns a salon and

suggested putting high and low lights in my hair (essentially using

dye in 3 different colors). I like the idea however I'm worried

that my body will react negatively to the hair dye. She says she

uses a mesh so that the dye never touches your head, but I'm

skeptical, because I feel that somehow there will still be some dye

that touches me in some way. Does anyone post-explant color their

hair, and if so, did you notice any reactions?

and all,

Today I got the test results from the Organic Acids Test, which I'll

be reviewing with the holistic practitioner on Monday. I scored high

for yeast/fungal, low for Pyridoxic Acid (a major metabolite of

Vitamin B-6) which indicates a Vitamin B-6 deficiency, low Pantothenic

Acid, another B vitamin, and here's something quite interesting: Low

pyroglutamic acid, a metabolite of glutathione. Glutathione serves as

an antioxidant and also removes toxins such as mercury and other toxic

chemicals. Low values are due to either oxidative stress or chemical

exposure. The recommendation is to supplement using N-acetyl L-

cystein, lipoic acid and a few others such as vitamin C and E.

Actually my Vitamin C level was great, it must come from the juice I

drink (which is probably also feeding the Candida!!). I think I

remember using L-Glutamine or something along that line and

noticing marked improvement.

Hi Sis,

I never used to highlight my hair, living in a hot country it wasn't always necessary and since my implants my hair has never been in such good condition, however, 4 months ago I decided to highlight my hair and tried to do it myself. I messed it up big time!!! I can laugh now but I have had some really strange colours and tried to correct it and it came out even worse.

I went to a salon and they had three attempts to put it right. I had highlights using foil which also do not touch the head. I think I itched a bit in my arms after but being sensitive to so many things it was easy to blame the colour but it could have just as easily have been the coffee we went to have afterwards. I went back for a fourth visit and had really dark highlights put through as I was too blond. I don't remember reacting each time. It did make me feel better though. You hair is very important and the first thing people notice about you (not our boobs eh hehe) so I would say, take a deep breath and go for it. It really makes you feel good about yourself and we all need that.

I am going again soon now that my itching is almost non-existent and now that I'm explanted.

You could always ask your naturopath.

Love

amanda.

Hey Sis,

This is remarkable.

This is what I have been harping on about that I know has made so much improvement to me.

L_Glutamin increases Glutathione.

I also take with it L_Cystine and Lipoic Acid among others but it interesting to see that what I have been taking, they have recommended for you.

I take L_Glutamin in the powder form as the capsules have very little content and you do need a high dose, more than whats recommended. I take approx 10grams a day, three tablespoons.

Oh, I am so excited for you,

Love

amanda.

Here's what is said about glutamin at this link: http://www.willner.com/article.aspx?artid=155 Glutamine This non-essential amino acid is found in high concentrations in serum, cerebro-spinal fluid and muscle tissues. Glutamine serves several key functions in human health, most notably as a key building block for glutathione, the body’s front-line antioxidant complex. Glutamine can easily cross the blood brain barrier where it is converted into glutamic acid, a precursor of GABA, a vital neurotransmitter that supports the central nervous system. Glutamine is utilized to 1) enhance metabolic energy, 2) increase mental alertness and clarity of thought, and 3) improve mood. Glutamine also raises blood sugar levels and may aid in treatment of hypoglycemia and controlling cravings for sugar and carbohydrates. Research has shown

that supplementation of glutarnine may reduce the craving for alcohol. Other noted areas of interest are depression, peptic ulcers, senility, behavioral problems and autism in children. However, at this link, it has a precaution: http://www.bio-alternatives.net/glutamine.htm PRECAUTIONS: People with kidney disease, liver disease, or Reye's syndrome should not take glutamine. , thanks for the positive feedback on this supplement. I might have to give this a try! Patty amanda lambert <manditenerife1@...> wrote: Hey Sis, This is remarkable. I once had a baby goat named after me.. :) Mel and Lee, that is so weird on the different colors and shapes of pills, I'm going to ask the "Be In Charge" nurse about that, it sure

makes me wonder, as well.. I'm not sure what I'm in charge of, though, lol, have yet to start treatment..but I do try to keep up with everything.. Tim, Thanks for sharing "A Woman" with us all, that was so very touching.. anne, Thank you again for all of the special things you share to lighten things up.. :) Jax, I don't know how {we} grandparents live without warming blankets, they really help! le, Best of luck with your biopsy on Friday! , "Hi", I'm Sheena, and yes, indeed, I have found your posts to be quite fascinating reading.. I'm sure glad that you have returned. I'm fairly new here, as of September.. My Rock..what a great bunch of folks.. Has anyone heard from ? I know she just started a new job in Arizona, I do hope all is going well for her.. You out there ? Sharon, , Jax, le, Nikki, Becky and all, no results on my biopsy, as yet, my GI hasn't even been in the office all last week or this. I have an appointment with him on February 6th. Generally, I will go and get a copy of my results, but have not been inclined to do so this time, especially since they were unable to biopsy the mass in my liver. They were able to get 2 nice chunks of my liver to biopsy and that will tell me where I'm at, otherwise.. The Radiologist wants to run another Cat Scan end of next month to determine if the mass is still growing.. If it is, it needs to be removed, then biopsied.. That about covers it, I wish everyone well, you are all ever in my prayers.. Many Blessings, Sheena Need a quick answer? Get one in minutes from people who know. Here is a message from , former member of our list and published author - for anyone who is interested:

Hi Folks,

So many of you have just been so wonderful to me about the work we do at Knospe-ABA and so supportive of my book that I wanted to share some of the exciting news surrounding "ETR." (If you are on several of the same groups I am and receive this more than once, please accept my sincerest apologies).1. Educate Toward Recovery:Turning the Tables on Autism is now available at more locations! Parentbooks in Ontario, Timberdoodle in Washington, VBTeachingtools in Texas, and Behavior Analysts inc. in California, have all agreed to carry the full volume of ETR and are recommending it to their clientel. But please remember, www.lulu.com/knospe-aba remains the best place to purchase ETR, download the latest free papers on related topics such as The VB approach to ABA, The Seven Steps to Instructional Control, and RDI, as well as read all the latest reviews as well as the ever-growing list of the books important supporters. FYI, Between them, the three free papers mentioned have been dowloaded over 600 times and are now being shared at ABA workshops, conferences, and parent meetings throughout the world! I am so glad that they have been so well received and helpful.2. Translations, Translations, Translations! I am also proud to announce that ETR is now being translated into three different languages. Versions of ETR (called Motivation and Reinforcement) are set for an October release date in German and Spanish. Work on an Italian version has also recently begun and is expected available at Lulu.com some time in 2008. 3. Autographs? I have also been invited to attend the Book Signing Extraveganza at ABA this year in San Diego. Not sure why anyone would want an autograph but regardless, on Sunday night from 7pm-9pm, my wife Nadine and I will be available to meet with anyone interested in coming by and chatting about ABA/VB, ETR, and autism intervention in general. I am really hoping that some of you who I know only through these lists stop by so we can finally meet face to face.4. Workshops and Presentations near you? www.lulu.com/knospe-aba is also where you can find out about my upcoming workshops and presentations. 2007 is currently filled and 2008 is booking up fast as well. If you are interested in having a workshop in your area or for your group, please contact our office at knospe-aba@... for infomation.5. Check out this amazing email, I just received. - I read your book Educate Toward Recovery on the recommendation of my son's speech therapist, and at risk of sounding cliche- it really changed my life (and subsequently my son's as well). Thank you. It was very readable for the non-professional and gave many excellent and clear examples. Actually, and this sounds like a weird statement to make about any nonfiction book but especially a training manual, I really enjoyed it and looked forward to reading more of it every night. Now that I have finished reading the book in its entirety, I reference it every day. I also bought an add'l copy to give on loan to Ben's therapists so that we are all on the same page... Anyway, I just wanted to give a truly heartfelt thank you for your wonderful book. It is an amazing resource and I've been telling everyone about it who will listen. Thanks. e L.Acknowledgement of self promotion:I know that emails like this might stretch the bounds of what some think is appropriate on lists like this. It is on these lists that I began my journey into VB many years ago and it is on these lists that I continue to spend up to several hours a night discussing ABA and autism related issues and offering free advice when I think I can be of some help. I cannot even begin to imagine the number of group emails I have deleted in the past 10 years or so. But, when I receive emails like the one above from e, I feel compelled to continue my work and share information about ETR with more families who could benefit. Thanks again to those of you who have helped me so much over the years. I owe a lot of the quality of ETR to you and the discussions we have had over these lists. Again, if you receive this more than once please accept my sincerest apologies and feel free to delete away :-) Thanks,

RoxannaAutism Happens
