Clay's Op

Hi Clay,

Just wanted to ask how you were getting on since the op. Hope it

went well and that you're not in too much discomfort there. Haven't

written in a bit. Sometimes life gets a little stressful. It

wasn't entirely 'gprobs' post that pushed me away(It's okay gprobs!),

I also have a very poorly husband who has been unable to work since

prior to last Christmas and his condition has deteriorated. I'm a

pretty busy Mum. Just this past week I've had the death of a dear

old friend to contend with and learned of the demise of a close

friend's marriage. They live in Australia and we used to enjoy

Saturday nights together over good old fashioned Aussie dinner parties

and games, have great memories so it's pretty sad that this has

happened for all parties. Anyway, I really enjoy everyone's posts

here and have finally taken the plunge and sent a photo off to the

adult picture project(photos are not exactly my favourite thing, love

taking them of others, but 'hate' them taken of me! Cringe!)

Anyway, hope you and everyone else here is doing well. Hope the

nurses were kind to you(I enjoyed nursing, but babies were more up my

alley!)

Best Wishes,

I just got back from taking a short walk, the first time I've

been out since getting home Wednesday afternoon. Thursday and

Friday, I felt like " death warmed over " , really weak and woozy

from the drugs, (also constipated). I stopped taking the codeine

w/ acetaminaphen, and I made some cabbage with knockwurst, red

wine vinegar, and margarine, which I could feel percolating in

my stomach all evening until it took effect. (And it did.)

The nose is full of splints, crusty blood, and mucus, which I'm

Not supposed to blow, inhale, or otherwise fool with, else I

might dislodge the splints. It May be that that's what went

wrong the first time I had this operation. It's not easy to

sleep when your nose is completely plugged, so I've been staying

up all hours, until I'm so tired I can't stay awake. I just

have this big urge to blow my nose, but I CAN'T! They won't

take out the splints until the 19th, aaarrrggghhh!!!

They were very nice, but I've got a funny story there.

As a Nurse, you know that when a person has an operation

where there's a tube down their throat, they get Very thirsty,

right? Well, when I woke up in post-op, I said to a Nurse,

" If you give me a cup of ice, I'll be So Good, you won't even

Recognize me! " She cracked up, and gave me the ice.

Glad to hear you're sorted in that department! The thought of this

concoction is starting to affect even my tummy which is usually like

steel!<img src= " http://www.cosgan.de/images/smilie/frech/022.gif " >

Yes, I've discovered emoticons!) Hope this works!

You poor thing! Now you know this is going to get huge sympathy from

me! Just keep telling yourself Clay " everything in life is

temporary! " You'll come out of this a new man, with a new nose to

boot! The 19th seems so long away right now, but I'll coach you on

this now - whatever you do, resist the temptation to blow. Wouldn't

it just be great to be able to fast foward bits of your life! <img

I'm not surprised you got the ice!!! Just be glad you didn't have

the notorious Dr Bashum(trust me, he lives up to his name!) After an

adrenal washout, he leaves his patients begging for mercy!

Hope this is all over soon for you. Take it easy and try to get some

rest! I should be saying take two pills and call me in the morning,

let me know you're doing okay, but it's already morning!

Sending you some virtual helium balloons and my most sincere " Feel

Better Soon " wishes,<img

What a shame, emoticons don't work here despite trying different options!
