Guest guest
I do not specialize in this area but I know many of you do. Can anyone help with ideas and info for my friend, he emailed me the following: Here is some info: I have Crohns Disease and had my colon removed 2 years ago, so I now have an ileostomy. I can pretty much eat anything (except corn, seeds, some fresh fruit, and I need to eat well-done veggies), but have a very hard time keeping weight on. Every few weeks I get symptoms of dehydration and try to prevent becoming dehydrated by drinking a ton of fluids including gatorade, but sometimes that doesnt work and I lose several pounds in a matter of days. When this happens I also tend to lose my appetite and have to basically force myself to eat. It always takes me a good week or so to go back to feeling myself again. Over the past few years I've been going back and forth between losing and gaining weight and I dont think this is good for my body. Ideally, I'd like to gain at least 10 pounds, but I am not sure how to do it.
