Guest guest
Been there, done that, this works best for me right now. My husband is self-employed, so it is nice to have a " real " job where I get great health insurance that covers our family plus paid vacations, etc. Two people self-employed is too hard. Plus I don't really have that go-getter personality. Thanks for responding though... Re: online diet websites maybe it's time to take the jump from teaching to entrepreneur! meganmyrd@... wrote: I do some consulting for a surgeon who does a LOT of bariatric surgeries, both lap band and gastric bypass. This is a part time job for me (my full time job is teaching, which as you know practically makes you have to have a part time job along with it to make ends meet). Anyway, this surgeon is looking into creating a presence on the web with something similar to ediets--where folks (his patients, as well as anyone else who might be interested in weight loss/weight management) would pay a monthly fee, be able to plot their weight and get diet tips, meal patterns, etc. Right now I use his space when I consult with his patients but pay him nothing. I bill the patients and they pay me. In return I do a support group for him once a month (sometimes less if we have a guest speaker at the support group) and have occasionally written an article for him here and there. It's a great deal. Now that he is looking to branch out, I am trying to figure out what to charge or what to ask for (% of the monthly fees the online folks pay?). Also I am wondering how much time something like this is likely to take? If anyone has done anything like this I would be eager to hear from you. I am stretched for time already, but I am soon to have 2 teenaged drivers with cars and insurance and in 2 more years, 2 kids in college. In other words, I can use the money. Any help/insight any of you might have would be appreciated. Thanks, , MS, RD, LDN Memphis, TN

**************************************
AOL now offers free email to everyone.
