Guest guest
My daughter is seven and has type one diabetes. I find explaining her blood sugars extrememly helpful. Also a very good case why weight watchers point system does not work for everyone. There are some very real reasons why people who eat high glycemic foods keep putting away fat stores. Guest guest
I stress fiber and digestibility of food to help regulate blood sugars. I don't tend to get too complicated, so just focus on whole foods vs processed foods. Basically GI without the chart and numbers. Dawn Privett wrote: My daughter is seven and has type one diabetes. Guest guest
I agree and teach the same. The ADA has a pretty good (but very short), handout that gives pro's and con's and bottom line re glycemic index. robin here is the site: http://www.eatright.org/cps/rde/xchg/ada/hs.xsl/nutrition_7908_ENU_HTML.htm >>> Kathy Bingham 01/04/07 9:31 AM >>> I stress fiber and digestibility of food to help regulate blood sugars. Guest guest
I am asking for professional opinions reasons for my own personal knowledge. Recently I have come accross many clients inquiring about the GI index in general as well as the GI index of certain foods. They all have heard/read so much about the topic in the news media so I was curious as to what everyone's professional opinion was. Re: question about the GI index Are you asking for personal curiousity/professional growth or are people's opinions for an article or something else?
