If you have any networking with VA dietitians, the VA system has been on the

cutting edge of electronic medical record implementation. When I was

employed in the VA in the early 1990's we implemented electronic medical

record. We created our own software and templates. We had a designated

dietitian who specifically dealt with electronic medical record process and

IT issues.

Thank you so much for the information. I am on one of the technical

committees for Healthcare Information Technology Standards Panel of HIMMS

and ANSI.

This is a group that reports to Secretary Levitt (HHS) on developing

standards for the electronic health record. I will admit it is a huge

learning curve

for me and have been appointed representing software vendor. But I am the

only RD on the committee so I am known not only as a marketer but also the

" RD " .

I will let Ron Moen know about this but I might be picking your brain about

this as well! Also who is your staff liaison from ADA, I will let them know

as well.
