Guest guest
Hi , Please take the time to read through the old messages on this group to see what breast implants have done to so many women. . . The problems that come with breast implants often take years to show up . . . From what I've seen, only a few women manage to dodge the bullet. Sooner or later, they have problems. Regardless, plan to replace your implants at least every ten years. Explanting and replacing is considerably more expensive than the initial surgery. The silicone shell will degrade over time, leaching toxic materials into your body. By the time it happens, the damage may be widespread. It's a really serious issue! . . . Please study it thoroughly so you really know what you're getting into. Also know that some of the pro-implant support groups are paid to advertise implants and plastic surgeons! They don't care about YOUR welfare . . . it's all about money for them! Hugs and prayers, Rogene
Guest guest
, I am so glad you've joined our group to help you make a wise decision about breast implants. I know how tempting it is to think that implants are going to be "the answer" to any feelings you may have about wanting larger breasts, and it certainly doesn't make it any easier when you have friends who are completely happy with them too. I had a friend who was happy with her implants, and I know how much I wanted to get them after having 4 kids. I did it and it was the worst decision of my life. Can I ask you if you have any children yet? If not, do you plan on having children? Implants are much more dangerous than they are made out to be by the doctors and the press. For this reason, I would highly caution you about getting them. OF course, it is a decision only you can make, but I think all of us here would tell you that they are TOTALLY not worth the suffering we have gone through. But most importantly, think of your future children if you plan on ever having any (if you don't have any yet), because your children deserve a start in life that is free of strikes against them. I am completely serious when I say this....children do get harmed by breast implanted mothers...and it is not fair to them to have this put upon them. Women never knew their implants could be making their children sick, so they are not to blame, but we have to start somewhere to make sure it doesn't happen to more children. If you are finished having your children, that would be the time to truly consider getting breast implants. But even then, the risks remain there that you could develop very serious immune system illnesses that could take away your ability to work and earn a living, to take care of yourself, to have a joyful, productive life, and be financially stable. There are women on this group have lost EVERYTHING due to implants and that is no joke. I would say your best bet at this point is to continue trying the herbal pills. We had one woman post on this group that she had success with herbs over a period of about a year I think....she went from an A cup to a near D cup, and was very happy with her results. I saw pictures, too. She looked good. Not all women have that success, but I would much rather have naturally larger breasts than fake ones. Anytime. I would encourage you to look at all the available options, including visual imagery and hypnosis before going through dangerous surgery. At least with those other options, you won't lose much in the way of money, and may only have to invest some time. I know it sounds hokey, but there may be some scientific support for these therapies. Ultimately, and preferentially, the best outcome would be for you to be able to learn to love yourself the way you were made. I am betting that you are a beautiful person just the way you are, and anyone who loves you should love you for you, and not for your breasts. Healthy breasts should not be cut upon and stuffed with toxic chemicals. That is just not a sane thing to do when you consider how perfect you already are. Once cut and stuffed your breasts will NEVER be the same. And the chances are very HIGH that you are going to have to have additional surgery down the road, either to deal with rupture, leak, or just replace because they are worn out. Implants don't last a lifetime, so you will be guaranteed future cost associated with additional surgery, and at some point in time, if your health crashes, you will pay to have them removed and struggle to regain health like we have. It's not a pretty picture. At least I hope I've painted it that way because implants are definitely made to look easy and safe by doctors. That's not the way it is. Please weigh all other options before doing this surgery. Patty <stephsramirez@...> wrote: Hi, My name is and I have joined this group because I am contemplating having breast implant surgery. Guest guest
My dear , I am so glad you came here to investigate your concerns. I wished I had done something similiar. I am writing with a pain in my heart much bigger than the pain I feel in my body everyday. I will do my best to give you my story, which I know will be long. I cannot find my microphone that I use to help me type. So this will be hard for me to do manually. As you can guess, I have severe muscle pain. I was barely an A cup. I hated bra shopping and left the stores crying without a purchase. I longed to look feminine. I have a pear shape and I wanted a hour-glass figure. I had all my children, two years post divorce, and ready to date. I thought this was going to be my answer. I was only 26 years old. I saved, found a doctor, and didn't hesitate. I didn't know anyone who was against it, so I did. I got beautiful bigger breasts, and I loved them. In fact, I loved them for 6 years. During that time I met and married my wonderful hubby. We have been married for two years now. I didn't have any health problems realated to the implants, so I thought. During those six years I did suffer more colds, bronchitis, asthma issues, kidney infections, a mass removed and stones removed from my kidney, and a throat infection that put me in the hospital for 3 days. I never related these to my implants. Now I know different. You stated your friends have had no symptoms from their implants. They may and not know it yet. I thought I was getting older and a more sensitive immume system. Now, I know it wasn't related to my age. In the 5th year is when my body couldn't take it anymore. Suddenly without much warning my muscles got weak, began to get numb, twitch, and hurt so bad. I couldn't stand or walk without the help from my husband. My doctors ran every test imaginable. I eventually got a long list of things I didn't have. I had X-rays, MRI, blood tests, urine tests, nerve tests, spinal taps. I got very tired of tests with "normal" results. In the mean time I started going to a kinesiologist who incouraged me to change my diet and take suppliments. I regained enough strength to walk and take care of myself, and that is where I am still today. I cannot work, I had to quit my nursing classes, and struggle with pain and fatigue everyday. I found this website this year in Jaunary. By the help of these wonderful knowledgable ladies, I became aware of the illnesses caused by saline implants. I read, absorbed and re-read every bit of information. I wished I had done this research before the implants. I immediately knew the implants had to be removed. I got very angry! I was so mad. I was mad at the doctor, who told me that saline was safe. I was mad at the doctors during this past year that told me that my implants were not causing my pain. I was mad at myself for getting these dumb things. I was even mad at God for putting me in this helpless situation. Then the guilt came in when I realized God didn't put me here, I did. God gave me a beautiful body, I just couldn't accept it as being beautiful. I should have just spent that money on getting counseling instead of implants. I should have accepted myself and learned to find other things to make me feel more feminine. (Arms hurt very bad right now) Here is the kicker, . I spent $5000 on new boobs. Since then, my heatlhcare costs have been estimated over $30,000 (counting all health issues for the 6 years) It has been $12,000 in just the past year. (all uninsured expenses, mostly alternative treatments). Then it came to $8000 to go to Ohio, get a hotel, and have them properly removed by Dr. Feng. I am over two months post explant and I still cant work to help my husband pay off these bills. We did get lucky and convinced the insurance company to pay for 60% of the explant. Most insurances do not cover it. I know I can't force you to not get breast implants, but I just want you to know what you may be getting yourself into. Be prepared to pay lots of $$$$ if you have problems. These problems may come immediately like Sis, or come after many years like me. Your plastic surgeon will tell you that the implant is safe, or that if you get saline it will be safer. I can tell you this, I had saline and I thought the same way, even through my health problems. However, my pathology report of my scar capsule that surrounded the implants, showed they containded silicone. The shell of the implant is made of silicone and my body was breaking it apart and taking it into my body. Now my body is very sensitive, in fact, right now, I have a bad reaction to a band-aid. (Getting more difficult to type) , implants didn't cure my poor body image. In fact they covered it up for six years. It did surface a few times and in different ways during that time. I was near anorexic once. Which by the way looked stupid with implants. When I had the explant, I went through a crisis, one I am still working on with counseling. I am trying to except myself the way God made me, just more scarred up. I have to deal with my disabilities and restrictions, which is the hardest. We have to deal with fincancial problems along with the loss of my dreams of becoming a nurse. I have lost so much of my life from breast implants. Your friends with implants may be just like me in a few years, do you want to be? If I had pimples from using an herbal inhancement product over six years ago, I would have gotten mad and contemplated getting implants also. Today, breaking out would be a welcome side effect compaired to how I am feeling today. God bless you dear , as you make your decision. Please stay with us and learn our daily difficulties, and inform your friends with implants that there is a place they can turn to if they start to have confusing health concerns. Thanks for listening, L <stephsramirez@...> wrote: Hi, My name is and I have joined this group because I am contemplating having breast implant surgery. Guest guest
, I am so glad that you found this site and chose to investigate all aspects of implants before you got them. I view getting implants as the absolute biggest mistake of my life. On May 10, 2005, I underwent breast implant surgery, they were saline, and my doctor told me they were " safe " . I was worried that they would damage my immune system, because I read the brochure that said some women had complained of immune illnesses after getting implants, and I came extremely close to cancelling the surgery. My doctor said I had nothing to worry about. I began to notice changes in my health within a week after getting implants. At first I had sore lymph nodes, then my feet started to hurt. I had this strange anxiety, and fatigue, and I had shooting pains in my feet, then my legs, then my entire body started having shooting pains. When the shooting pains disappeared, by joints swelled up, and then my fingers and toes went numb, and underneath my fingernails and toenails got sore. Then I started getting terrible throbbing headaches, dizziness, brain fog, and my blood pressure spiked to 145/98 (when it was normally 110/60). I was having anxiety attacks all the time, when I never had one before. I was sleeping about 3 hours a night. I had difficulty digesting my food properly, and I had heartburn all the time, and my throat burned. I lost 10 lbs. My skintone looked kind of grayish, and at times I would look at my fingers and the veins were bulging, and my fingers looked blue. At night when I slept (for those lovely 3 hours) my body would tremble or twitch. In November 2005, I could stand no more of this and had my implants removed. In one year, I wasted $14000 on two plastic bags, not counting all the money I've spent on blood tests, physical therapy, counseling, doctor visits, etc. Aside from all of that, I really hated how I looked with fake breasts, and I missed my small ones. That was the real me, that was the person that I was meant to be, and I felt like I had two aliens in my chest, and I truly felt trapped. I felt like I was a prisoner in my own body, and the implants made me feel extremely claustrobic. I hope that you think long and hard before you have this surgery, and if you do decide to go ahead with it, I hope you have alot of money in the bank, because unfortunately the only guarantee you will have is that eventually you will need more surgery. Your friends might not be having any problems at this point, however do you want to risk your health for this? Love your body as it is, we are all beautiful in many different ways, and I am so much happier with a small chest than I was with my implants. Last summer, after getting implants, I was at my lowest of all lows. I had lost my long-term career (before I got implants), my marriage was crumbling (because of implants), and I had gone from a healthy woman to a sickly one (again because of implants). I contemplated suicide more than once, and believe me this was not my nature. Now I'm five months post explant, I just started a new job a few weeks ago, my husband snapped out of it after I had the explant, and slowly my health is improving but I've still got a long road ahead of me. I appreciate my body and my life more than ever, and I wish I didn't have to go through all I did this past year, but that cannot be changed. You, on the other hand, can seal your fate by the decision you are about to make. I wish you well, and again I'm thankful that you found this site BEFORE you had the surgery, rather than finding it AFTER because you were sick. Best wishes, Sis > > Hi, > My name is and I have joined this group because I am contemplating having breast implant surgery. Guest guest
What a wonderful post. Thank you for sharing your story! You have a really great way of touching others with the way you write. I know if I had read a story like yours I would have run in the opposite direction. But, like you, I was told that saline implants were harmless. I didn't know I was sick for eleven years because I had fms before I got the implants and thought all my symptoms were just worsening fms. Then suddenly my symptoms escalated and got much worse and included symptoms that fms doesn't get. That was when I realized something was really wrong. I kept praying for God to show me what was wrong. Then one day I was in a massage therapist's office and there was an article in her massage magazine about how to deal with women who had implants, got sick and were explanted but still had silicone in their bodies. In the article it had the link I needed to ultimately find this lifesaving group! Be encouraged. You will get better and adding your voice to this cause will save others from making the same mistake! Guest guest
Kathy, Do you remember what the massage therapist magazine said about massaging a client who still had silicone in her body? . . . Personally, I've cautioned massage therapists NOT to massage anything suspected of being a silicone deposit. It would be better to be checked out by a doctor and removed surgically if it is. One wouldn't want to break any capsule that formed around loose silicone and so it could be sent throughout the body! Hugs, Rogene
Guest guest
Thank you Kathy, Like you I started getting symptoms that fibromyalgia doesnt have. I left somethings out due to the length of my story. I literally felt my "clock ticking". My heart was showing signs of stress and was being monitered by my doctor. Still he forbids me from any aerobic exercise because my pulmonary meridians are still off. Writing is very difficult for me, especially by hand. But sometimes I feel the need to respond with my story. I truely pray that and anyone else who is contemplating implants will reconsider. Lmikat828 <mikat828@...> wrote: What a wonderful post. Guest guest
--- Oh my Word!!!! Thanks for this bit of info, Rogene. I have a magroller massager from Nikken which has been a lifesaver for me...it really helps find and get rid of knots...I never thought of silicone lumps being released...that's all I need! Thank you so much for the info...I will go easier on my self=massage program!! Guest guest
Rogene No I don't. It was four years ago and since I didn't have silicone I wasn't paying that much attention. I was focused on the phone number of Ilena which was printed in the article. I may still have the magazine. I will take a look for it and let you know if I find it. Guest guest
Please stay encouraged that you will improve! We are all on a different timetable for that and it sure isn't a straight line. You can feel better, than regress, then feel better again. Also, when I got my implants out, my heart rate was regularly above 120 bpm when I was just walking around and I was skipping hundreds of beats a day. Getting my implants out and going on the antibiotic therapy really helped. Over a period of months my heart returned to normal. Now it is only when I am severely herxing that my heart races or skips beats. I am sure yours will improve too!
