The milk was from the N.E. part of the U.S. and the lettuce was from Texas...(I belive that's correct). Sad...but true. And wasn't it only found in red leaf lettuce? I'd be growing my own lettuce if I could, but can't do that here in Colorado in December. Bastards! I swear they are trying to give every one of us cancer. What is this and why is it in lettuce and milk.. My daughter and I eat salad every night ( big ones ) and I tell her that she is eating so healthy.. This STINKS.. and I know some of you will say that I should be getting only organic.. but I live here in good ol knoxville tennessee and the organic is few and far between and it is so expensive. and I am a single mom on a limited budget . Guest guest Posted December 7, 2004 Report Share Posted December 7, 2004 what I read was the lettuce was from california , and the water was from the colorado river that feeds into colorado. ----- Well, they've mucked up our water supply for years here what with Rocky Flats, the atomic arsenal, and all the other defense work going on here, not to mention the pharmaceuticals that were recently detected in our water supply, why am I not surprised that something like lettuce is contaminated.
