Guest guest
it's reasonable. I was looking into MedGem before it closed. I've briefly talked with them. My proposal was shot down because the CFO said medicare doesn't cover it. MedGem said yes. I'm thinking medgem was in $2,000 range. One of the proprosal would of gross 50k. Guest guest
We use it at UW in our outpatient department. Our billing department requests that we have an MD order for it (they all say yes and frequently refer to us for the service). We tell patients the charge and code and have them check with their insurance carrier. No one has complained about reimbursement as of yet. Guest guest
what kind of facility is that? is that a clinic? long term care? Acute? If this is acute care - you want to show them the length of stay and obesity and co-morbidities and length of stay associated with obesity. Hospitals are paid according to length of stay. The shorter the better. for each Dx there is a max length of stay which beyond the carrier won't pay and hospital loses money. To begin with, generally speaking, hospitals are struggling these days.
