Guest guest
I use Norton in my PC, Macafee in my laptop (it was not compatible with Norton for some reason). I get email through Outlook Express in my PC as well as use the company's email server, Citrix, for work related emails and to connect to the office network. On my laptop I use the office server as well as if I need any email functions personally I use Hotmail. My laptop has been virus free and I believe it's bc I don't use Outlook Express. My PC receives at least 8 per day with attachments. The attachments are all quaranteened by Norton, and I don't open them, but I've looked at the files and they all end with .pip. I suspect that one of the worms sent emails out in my name a couple of weeks ago. I will look into the Macaffee site also to see what their advise is. Thanks for the information. Hi Digna, That's interesting; I have McAfee on my desktop and Norton on my laptop; I keep both updated and run regular virus scans. I don't use Outlook Express on either one -- I use Netscape. However, I've had a bunch of infected messages, some with my own email address. I thought the McAfee information might be useful information for some folks, as it can be pretty confusing at times. Guest guest
I did find it interesting. I have not been using my laptop much this month as my employer gave me a work one, so I've retired mine for a while (although I like it better). Virus scan information can be very intimidating sometimes.
