Guest guest
Like Carol, one of my goals for 2005 is to organize my home (therefore, my life?). I'm wondering if any of you are the " Mission Organization " or " Clean Sweep " types. If so, do you have any advice to help me gain control over my closets, desk, drawers, and cupboards? My home is clean, but it sure is cluttered! I'm the type to drop and dash..... While my stacks and piles are proof that I'm active and involved in lots of things, I have to admit that they steal away the peace and tranquility a more organized home would provide. Anyone up to the task of suggesting a realistic system and plan for organizing my home and my things? Ready to reform LOL. Melody
Guest guest
Gosh I wish I had a magic wand to wave my clutter away! I think my house looks reasonably tidy, but it's superficial. The chaos lurks behind every cupboard and closet door and in every drawer. I arrived in California in 1992 with only 1/2 a shipping container of household items and seven suitcases. Now I have too much STUFF. That's it! - I need to stop getting stuff! Perhaps if I don't go shopping for a couple of years, give up work and school, and change my address, the stuff will stop arriving in my house! I have made a few small inroads. I have reorganized my CD and DVD collections, but I'm still working on my photos (thanks goodness that I've gone digital now!) My own closet is emptier than it's ever been, but sadly WLS surgery hasn't had the same effect upon my pantry or my garage! I used to move house every few years but I have lived in this one for 11 years. I think that is part of the problem. If I had to pack all this stuff up I would soon get rid of some of it! Carol the queen of clutter: Please help! Like Carol, one of my goals for 2005 is to organize my home (therefore, my life?). Guest guest
I'm happy, too, for the flylady.com suggestion. As long as the emails don't clutter up my inbox, I think her suggestions will be very helpful! LOL Carol, I'd like to read those clutter-reduction books, as well. Thank you. Funny thing: I once read a research article that suggested that people who bought those books were the LEAST likely to implement clutter-freeing ideas. Seems it makes us feel good just to contemplate reducing the piles o' stuff. Ha! As we think of ideas to share, let's keep the thread going, OK? January's a very good month to clean the clutter out of all corners of our lives, agreed? Melody > > Gosh I wish I had a magic wand to wave my clutter away!
