Guest guest
Hi all – The NMDP’s Office of Patient Advocacy hosts several webinars each year for patients, with topics like preparation for transplant, caregiver resources and survivorship. Right now, the team is preparing a Spanish-language webinar focused on the financial issues of blood & marrow transplant. We are looking for Spanish-speaking volunteers that work at a transplant center in a financial role and would be able to discuss some of the following topics: I. Understanding health insurance plansII. Expenses related to transplantIII. Assessing personal finances and long-term expenses related to transplant IV. Legal documents that help patients and caregivers to navigate the systemI. Additional available resources. Ideally, patients would learn about :· Health insurance terms and legal documents to assist them while planning their care· The importance of making a financial plan for their treatment and their families · Resources and places where they can find support to accomplish these goals Mc, our bilingual patient services coordinator, will be coordinating the webinar and would be able to help speakers plan their presentation. The presentation would be recorded in advance and would NOT be live (for those of you that are shy about speaking to groups). The webinars are recorded and posted on the NMDP website for free access by patients in the future.
