Guest guest
If you're talking about foregoing the NPH entirely at bedtime, I already tried that for four nights.....my fasting BGs were between 155 and 160. Way higher than I wanted 'em. So I went back to bedtime NPH. Susie, thanks for all your attention to this problem. I've come to the conclusion that it was probably the alcohol that did me in...although it seems to be in combination with high numbers because I generally do have a drink before dinner on weekends and never had a problem before - except once when I didn't match carb-to-insulin correctly and had a high bedtime count. I'll keep your post of good suggestions and work on getting better control with insulin and see if I can still have my one drink before dinner...I'll be extra careful and if I do hit large numbers before bedtime I'll set alarm for two hours later so I can check in case I go down precipitously...if this doesn't work then I'll check out some of your suggestions. Again, thanks a bunch. I know how important tight control is to you. >>
Guest guest
I'm like my former neighbor girl. One day I cut my toe pretty badly. She went, " Ewwwww ... " Then she said, " Let me look at it again!! " hahahaha I'm pretty much interested in and game for anything. I poke far and wide on the internet. Now, I have just encountered the MOST FASCINATING web site on diabetes and the pancreas! Warning: These are slides of diseased pancreases and very graphic descriptions, written by a pathologist for his online students. It just makes you realize how much is actually known about our disease that we are never told because I guess they think we will be too squirmy. If you are up to it, go to http://www.pathguy.com/lectures/pancreas.htm Then scroll down that page until you see, on the right, the words: MORE PHOTOS, and then scroll down from there until you find the hyperlinks beginning with " Pathology of diabetes " . It begins about one-third of the way down the page. Susie
