Guest guest
Hi , When the doc did the RHC he did use some numbing medicine for the site and gave me Versed and Zofran. I was so exhausted from being sleep deprived for the previous 4 days, I conked right out. I don't remember anything about the procedure, except seeing a big orange hose coming from my neck and turning my head for him to the left side. And that's all I remember. I don't even remember what time he gave me the Versed, but I know I didn't wake up till 3:30 in the afternoon. I got 3-4 hrs sleep at least. lol I sure needed it. Yes, the fluid build up will cause great difficulty breathing, but when I'm already having difficulties, it's hard to notice anything more unless it is great and really stands out there to grab your attention. But there was enough fluid to cause the test to be inconclusive. I can't imagine having to do what you did and push against the doc. I would have been so scared. They'd have to give me Valium or Versed, lol well not Versed as that knocks me out and he only gave me 1mg. I was shocked at how it knocked me out. I can sure see why everyone would think you should hate cats and not want to be around them. But I totally understand your point, it flat wasn't the cats fault. We all would have done the same thing if we couldn't get air. Natural recourse, PANICK and attack. lol I'm so sorry to hear how bad your pain is today. Hugs! You can't get out of all of these activities today? Will your family not understand that you are just not well and can't make it this time? OR can you just go for a few minutes to make an appearance and leave? By doing this today, it's just going to cause your pain to be more elevated. I would be very apt to stay home if I were you. Just my humble opinion. I just hate to see you hurting so bad. And the pain you are experiencing sounds so very horrid. The stimulation from the crowds alone is going to cause great tension and the pain to elevate. Then add all the others stimuli to that and oh my, you are going to be a horrible mess tomorrow or even by this evening. Please try to take it easy, the best you can anyway. Hugs and love, Tommie ~ Leg this morning - Tommie Good morning - My goodness, thanks for all the information on PH. I had no idea and had never heard of it until now. For the heart cath, are you awake for that? Do they numb the area? I ask because a number of years ago I had SVT (Supraventricular tachycardia) and had to have a cardiac ablation. Actually have had 2 of those. They passed a cath through my groin and my neck (jugular) to thread to the heart to " cauterize " the extra passage ways in my AV node which was causing the rapid heartbeat. When they did my neck, I was wide awake as they needed me to push against the doctor's hand in order to make the vein stand up better. And I remember it hurting really bad! I was then put out for the other ones to be passed so I don't know what they feel like but I remember not liking the jugular. They didn't numb it at all either though. With the fluid that had built up, does that also cause difficulty breathing? And what were your symptoms of the PH? Sorry for all the questions, I just am interested in learning more. As for my cat bite, yup it's all from a cat bite. I get that reaction from most people. When I was in the hospital, the woman that cleaned my room said " what happened to you? " When I told her about it, she said cats are evil, do you have any of them at home? " When I replied that I had 2 of them at home, she insisted that I get rid of them since they are nothing but evil. I had to laugh. Like I said I never blamed the cat. It didn't know what else to do because he was having a hard time breathing. Unfortunately the owner ended up finding out that he bit me because the cat was not up to date on his Rabies vaccine. So they needed her permission to test the cat for Rabies and explain to her why. I was really upset about that since I really did NOT want her to know about it! Ok, so this morning my leg is really painful. I didn't sleep too well last night. It was one of those nights that whenever I moved, it caused a great deal of pain. When I got up, I have horrible sharp pains in my upper thigh area. The bottom half of my leg (below the knee) has that tight feeling that I feel so commonly. Actually last night I felt that tight feeling in my left ankle, so it went into the other leg a little bit. I am just really tired of this. I ended up not taking the Gabapentin last night because I just didn't want to go through what I did the night before in case it was the med causing it. We are leaving later this morning to go to my FIL for his birthday party. I am not looking forward to it since I don't like being around a lot of people when I hurt. I am just not the social butterfly I used to be. Then we have to stop at my MIL house and my mom's house as well. So it is going to be a very long day! Not looking forward to it at all! I hate to have that attitude about it but I just don't want to go, especially with the pain. I hope that you have a great day! .
Guest guest
, I've stopped going with my husband some of the times he goes to see his parents. I hate to get out of that, but with how bad it makes the pain, he understands. It sounds like you were obligated. I hope you won't be in awful pain when you come back. It sounds like the thing with your leg is spreading. Are you still dead set against going to the emergency room? This sounds like a case for Dr. House. LOL (Sorry. Just popped into my head. Sometimes I wish he would diagnose me with some curable illness!) Chelle
Guest guest
I am going to make this short since we just got home not too long ago, but yes I ended up going. I knew my husband more than anyone would be mad if I didn't go. I did sit with my leg elevated most of the time but man it hurt. I couldn't see any swelling up until this point in the leg, but today I could. I also had some real burning sensations in my leg. I just wish I had an answer. After my FIL house, we went to my MIL and went swimming. The pool actually helped the tight feeling although only for about an hour. It was at least an hour that I didn't have to have that sensation. Still had the shooting pains. So, I am headed off to bed as I am wiped out! Thanks again for your concern. I think I am going to call the doctor tomorrow and push a little. This is only getting worse and I don't want to deal with it anymore. Re: Leg this morning - Tommie Hi , You can't get out of all of these activities today? Guest guest
I did have to go or I know my husband would have been really pissed off! It was better for me just to go instead of not going and hearing him complain about it. I don't think I have gotten him to the point yet that he fully understands what I am going through on a daily basis. I am in a world of hurt. I ended up going swimming for a short time at my MIL house. The pool did help my leg a bit for about an hour. But it's bad again. I had my husband drive home (I drove there) as my leg just really hurt even driving. So I think I'll be calling the doctor tomorrow. Today I had some serious burning sensations in my leg, then tingling in my calf and around to the shin. When I was showing my husband where the tingling as on my leg, as soon as I stopped touching the area, it felt like I was still touching it. Very odd. Things are definitely getting worse and not better! Dr. House is welcome here anytime :-) Re: Leg this morning - Tommie , I've stopped going with my husband some of the times he goes to see his parents. Guest guest
, Get some rest! I'm glad you made it through the day of events. And glad you got some relief from the pool. Please post tomorrow and let us know what your doc says after you hear back from them. Sweet dreams!
