This IS the best diabetes group on the internet! I am just so proud of all

of them! There is lots of love and sharing and no meanness ... and the best

thing of all is that I believe we have about the best record of treating our

diabetes successfully of any group on OneList (Ok ... I gotta post a

statement here ... the folks at LC-DIABETES will blow your doors off ...

HbA1c's in the 5-6 range ... these folks are amazing.).

But for a general diabetes group, that is not exclusively into low-carbing,

this group is TOPS ... and since our lives depend on getting it right ...

what a wonderful thing to find. I was over in MHD - hating it - Most of the

people over there are just decent folk who want to know how to best treat

their disease. But there is a small handful of negative back-biters who just

seem to ruin it for others.

So Norgaard, from Denmark, recognized the problems55 over there and

created this refuge of sanity and humanity and invited us to come on over

.... really glad I made the switch. It is so much better to have a sense of

family and actually feel like we are on the road to recovery - not just on

this sad, long, downhill slide that I see some folks on. The success stories

in here are so inspirational!

Thanks . My plan is following Bernstein's WOE (low carb) and I know it

is pretty strict, but for now this is what I need to do. If I start out

having treats, well, let's just say a whole bag of something is still not

enough! Maybe in time down the road, I can start having more carbs. I feel

so lucky that I was able to get off the meds so fast and still keep my

numbers under 100. Strict though it may be, it does work for me.

I probably have the numbers wrong, but I think I read that a weight loss of

at little as 10 pounds can cut insulin resistance in half.
