I use these with my B-D Minipen. I use the B-D ultra-fine II short needle 30-gauge 5/16 " (8 mm.) with syringe for my NPH and they are almost painless. I shoot in my thigh but I don't think that has anything to do with painful or not-painful). Vicki

I have " love handles " which makes thigh shooting ideal, maybe you don't, but if there's fat there, it's a good alternative place to shoot. Only problem, when you go out to eat and dinner comes, you have to leave table to go to restroom, most restaurants wouldn't appreciate you pulling your pants down at the table... :-) Vicki
Guest guest
Vicki, I use the B & D 29 gauge needles..I shoot myself in the stomach as per docs directions..I will talk with him about it next week..it is not so much the injection but the area gets real sore...as you know the Medi-jector uses no needles...the cost is 400 dollars..I was wondering if that would be less painful than the needles.. I have also looked at the pen but am not sure if my HMO has it in stock or even prescribes them..I will check.. Thanks again Vicki hugs and peace rik " Eat your dessert first " rwc3 corwin3@... ndale, Virginia ICQ# 318892 http://members.tripod.com/~kaosorb/index.html Re: Medi-jector > From: WHIMSY2@... > > In a message dated 99-05-16 00:46:38 EDT, you write: > > << has anyone have or had any experience with the Medi-jector system. Guest guest
Vicki, I seem to get less than good absorption when I use the thighs. Have you experienced this? Have you experienced this? >> Since I've always injected in my thighs I have no basis for comparison. However, last night I injected my usual bedtime dose of NPH (2 units) and this morning instead of my usual 130-140 fasting BG it was 175 and two hours after my usual breakfast of Wheat Hearts and tea (24 carbs total) and 2 units of lispro (and a vigorous walk) my BG was 202. The only thing I can figure out is I must be Coming Down With Something -- I was exposed to someone with a cold this weekend...and I am feeling sorta washed out...if I do come down with a cold, it'll be my first since diagnosis 18 months ago. Have to find my Sick Day Plan...Unfortunately, this is a very busy week for me, no time to get sick...I'm scheduled to lead a walking tour tomorrow and the forecast is for rain; Wednesday I have to fast for Thursday's long-planned-for sigmodoscopy and Friday I'm taking an all-day class...no time to be sick! Guest guest
Wow! And I thought I had a busy week. I used to alternate among arms, stomach and thighs but have given up on the latter because I seem to get terribly slow absorption and on some occasions, you'd think I didn't take any insulin when I use the thighs. I'm seeing my endo this Friday and I'll take it up with her O'Neil WHIMSY2@... wrote: > From: WHIMSY2@... > > In a message dated 99-05-17 09:26:38 EDT, you write: > > << Vicki, I seem to get less than good absorption when I use the thighs.
