Guest guest
It is amazing to me that these drugs ever make it to market. The FDA is a useless organization. They're worse than useless!! They are complicit in all kinds of deaths by either killing the patient outright, or murder, and suicide. Every last one of them should be brought up on criminal charges. And pray tell, just what was the rationale for giving your father Zyprexa? Sheesh. I'd have raised holy hell, too. Good for you. Guest guest
Hi Jo Fortunately I have been blessed with good health and the only pills I take are vitamins. I am allergic to aspirin so I never even take it and Tylenol does not work, so why bother. But my dad is very sick and every time he is given a new drug, I check it out on the Internet. I go to Google (because of information I learned from this group) and put in name of drug - adverse side effects. If the first few listings are class action law suits, it is a good clue the drug is dangerous. When the doc gave him a small dose of Zyprexa, he was comatose the next day and had extremely high blood sugar. I didn't discover that was a side effect of this drug until the next evening. But when I did, I raised the roof and said I did not want my father ever having another psychotic drug again. The side effects are strokes and diabetes which my father has and has had. If he had died, it would have been attributed to "natural causes" because he is 88 years old and in very poor health. I was recently told that in his chart it says he is "allergic to" Zyprexa. I said great - he is allergic to ALL psychotropic or psychotic drugs. It is amazing to me that these drugs ever make it to market. The FDA is a useless organization. Stay informed and stay healthy! Guest guest
I begged them to restrain him instead, but the doc said they don't like to restrain patients Oh, but a chemical restraint is just fine in their eyes. I'm so glad you stood up to these doctors. I wonder how many people like your dad might have died because of these drugs and nobody was the wiser. I'm glad you were informed. You might have saved your dad's life because of it. Cheers to YOU! "Blind Reason" a novel of pharmaceutical intrigue Think your antidepressant is safe? Think again. Guest guest
Hi Glitter I know you will find this hard to believe but my dad was in the emergency room at a local hospital and he was trying to stand up. Just stand up! Any other culture, if an old guys want to stand up and walk, someone walks with them. Only here they drug them so that they will sit down, be quiet and not bother anybody. The reason he was in the ER was for testing as he had fallen earlier in the day. (It ended up that he had broken his jaw) The doc said he wanted to give him Zyprexa - I questioned him and told him if it was made by Eli Lily, GSK or Pfizer, I did not want him to have it. He did not know who made it and convinced me it would be fine to give him a small dose. I begged them to restrain him instead, but the doc said they don't like to restrain patients. I guess they would rather give them a drug that can kill them! This was last January and in February I read a post from this group that Eli Lily was sending out warnings to docs not to give Zyprexa to elderly people because it can cause diabetes, coma, strokes and death. Pretty chilling. My dad has diabetes and has had 6 or 8 strokes in addition to being on dialysis. I hope that doc got the message before he could administer it to someone else. This will really make you laugh - in April my dad was back in the ER for another fall and this time without asking me, they got a restraining vest and put it on him and tied him in bed. HA! My fussing paid off. Let's hope hurries up with his next movie - the "big pharmas" need to be outed! Stay informed and stay healthy!
