anoxic injury?

I'm trying to figure out what this means.

Anoxic injury to the liver.

So if Anoxic means extreme low oxygen, then the above means that the liver was

injured due to there not being enough oxygen to the liver...which means blood

flow since the red blood cells bring oxygen.   Does that sound right? which

could mean that the liver was so cirrotic that the blood could've been there but

it couldn't synthesize the blood due to damaged cells.  Am I on the right track?

TIA,

Pamela
