Guest guest
Hi Elsie, You have an interesting point of view on the subject of mothers. My mother was a real mother_____er if you get my drift. MDear ole Mom passed away from a drug overdose at age 44. She paid for her mistakes. But...you know if I could pick a lunch date with anyone in the world dead or alive, I would choose my mother. Now granted, my mother never cooked a meal in her life. My brother and me grew up eating Cap'n Crunch cereal and canned fruit cocktail. Mom didn't think anyone got hungry because she lived on diet pills and cigarettes. We never celebrated Thanksgiving because she said we weren't " Pilgrims. " Instead, we feasted on the traditional New York hoagie instead of a turkey dinner. As an adult woman I have made my share of gigantic mistakes in life. I can now understand why my mother did some of the things she did. The moon was full and so she howled... Mom didn't know any better and she did the best she could. I have to believe that. Honestly, I wish I could sit down with her and make peace. After all, we are what our relationships were with our mothers...so it is said. Moreso, I am what I am because of who she was. I am a strong woman who is still standing despite my Gothic horror childhood and tumultuous life. Mothers..we all have one. ~Robyn~
