Thanks so much for your concern. I think that we will wait and watch

what they say. I sounds like it might be a long night. ha I will

probably be watching the news all night. But, I did get an idea from

you. I think that I will get together some items, so should we need

to leave we can just grab and go. Keep you all in touch.

Oh goodness Jodie, maybe get to packing? Get out of there. Do you have anywhere

to go? I sure hope so. I'm praying for you and all of those in your State. This

rain just must end. We have been having so much natural disaster lately, or so

it seems.

We are still being threatened with rain and storms, but not much of anything has

happened around me anyway. Other parts of the State are getting a little rain,

but nothing at all like you all are experiencing. :( WOW

We did have an Earthquake this morning, registered 2.5 on the Richter scale.

They didn't say if there was any damage, if there were I guess it wasn't major.

Anyway, I'm praying too. Hang in there and try to keep us posted on your

situation.

Hugs,

Tommie

Wow, Tommie what state do you live in? I did not hear anything about

an earthquake as of yet this morning. This is just awful what Jodie

is going through. I pray it will just stop & all will be o.k. & no

one loses any lives or property. Take Care,

Hi ,

I live in Oklahoma. I know it's very unusual for us to get Earthquakes, but it

does happen and I heard this morning that we actually had 4 of them yesterday,

the main one was right in the middle of Oklahoma City where 2 Interstates cross.

Weird huh?

Thank you for the update Jodie! I am glad that the skies are blue and

it's not raining right now.

I am worried about you however and your pain/blood pressure. Why don't

you go in? It sounds like you need something. You need relief from the

pain and your blood pressure as well. That can be dangerous to let it

stay high.

Please take care of you and do what you need to in order to help

yourself.

HI, ALL,

JUST WANT TO REPORT THAT THE SKIES ARE STILL SUNNY AND BLUE. SAND

BAGS WILL SOON BE REMOVED, I THINK. SO, HERE AT THE BUNKER HOUSEHOLD,

ALL IS WELL--BESIDES PAIN--OF COURSE. LOL

I AM TRYING TO NOT GO TO THE ER TODAY. I AM AFRAID THAT THEY WILL NOT

LET ME HAVE THE PAIN PUMP IF I GO. MAN, I HURT THOUGH. AND, OF

COURSE, BECAUSE OF THE PAIN, MY BLOOD PRESSURE IS 212/130, SO IN COMES

THE HEADACHES ALSO.

I HOPE ALL HAS HAD A GOOD WKND.

WOW Jodie, maybe you need to go to the ER for your BP. That is a very high BP.

It could be dangerous. Call your pain doc at least, he's probably on call, and

see what he thinks you should do. This way you won't get in trouble for " drug

seeking " ............geez these docs really tick me off.

Hugs sweetie, I hope you feel better soon.

Tommie,

Unfortunately, my pain doc is not on call. They don't have anyone on

call in the evenings or the weekends. The drug seeking this is

definitely what I am worried about. I think that tomorrow I will call

and chat with the nurse and tell her that I need a definite plan for

unbearable pain. Actually, I should have had a plan all this time.

Oh yeah, they did give me a plan.....take Ultram ER 300 mg, and

Tramadol 100 mg. for break-thru pain. lol

and let me guess? those meds aren't doing a darn thing for your pain? Obviously

NOT! Dumb doctors....grrrr they make me so mad :( Hugs

I'd say go to the ER for your BP, not the pain and then tell them the pain is

what's causing your high BP? They can't label you for that one can they?

Jodie,

Hopefully enough of the rain that is there now will be gone by Friday, that's 5

days away :) I'm praying for LOTS of sunshine for you between now and then.

We've just had too much weather related deaths and such already this season,

it's time for it to stop. And I know we are just getting into Hurricane season,

God forbid we have any bad ones again this year. I'm praying :)

I did that just last week, that's why I am especially nervous about

going already. Think I will just lay down for a bit here, take some

p.r.n. BP medicine, and see how it goes. If it doesn't go down in a

couple of hours, I might reconsider.

Okay, I hate these doctors!! Tramadol is ultracet, which is ultram with

tylenol. Jodie, you've been had by your doctors AGAIN! I'm worried about your

blood pressure. I agree with Tommie - you need to be seen ASAP. That is WAY

too high.

Please keep us updated and let us know how you're doing. Try to rest and get

that blood pressure down!

I agree with Tommie 100% - you need to be seen as soon as possible. for the BP!

Maybe you can convince a nurse about the pain meds - they're sometimes more

sympathetic and human than the doctors.

They wouldn't let a dog suffer like they let us suffer.

Yes, nurses are sometimes more sympathetic than docs, now only if we could get

them to write scripts. lol

Have a good day Chelle,

Maybe we should start a petition to change the law so nurses can write

scripts????? I always seem to find a LOT more sympathy from the nurses.

I do NOT understand why it is such a big deal about prescribing opiates. My

psychiatrist (who isn't allowed to prescribe them by his practice,

unfortunately) says that if a person needs opiates for pain control, then it

doesn't matter whether they are " addicted " or not - they need the meds. God, I

wish he could prescribe my pain meds!!!!

I have to tell you all something really strange....since I started taking the

zyprexa three nights ago, my pain levels have dropped. I just don't get it -

that drug has no pain relieving qualities to my knowledge. Has anyone ever

heard of this???? It's got to be a coincidence.

Chelle,

WOW the Zyprexa is helping the pain, or so it seems? That's great. Stranger

things have happened and if it's helping more than what you are taking it for

then you get a bonus!

I wish your Psych could write pain meds for all of us. lol Nah, what I really

wish is that either my first PCP I had when I got sick, hadn't lost his

privilege to write narcotics and/or my Internal Med doc I had after him, hadn't

have had a massive heart attack that took him out of practice :( They both

didn't have any qualms about treating my pain adequately.

After the Internal Med doc went out, I had a hard time finding a doc that would

take me on and treat all of my illnesses, let alone finding one that would treat

my pain too. That is how I wound up in Pain Management. Then I have several

other docs. My PCP is more or less just for colds and flu. He isn't good for

anything else. He refers me to every Tom, Dick and Harry in practice. lol

Ok, I'm long winded this morning.

Have a nice day!

Tommie

Hi Jodie

What you saw on the weather channel is what I got stuck in on Friday

and then again on Sunday. I was flying out to Hartford Connecticut for

my nephew's/godson's wedding. It took me 7 hours to get out of

Minneapolis on Friday because of the weather here and in Milwaukee and

Chicago, but I finally got out. When I got to Hartford Conneticut, I

spent 4 hours in the airport waiting to get a rental car. I made it to

the wedding and enjoyed myself. I crashed Saturday night and slept for

12 hours. Coming home on Sunday afternoon was another adventure.

Milwaukee airport had been closed for close to 12 hours because of

heavy rains and flooding at the airport. When we finally got to board

the plane at 8:00 pm we found out that we couldn't leave because

Milwaukee had closed their airport to all traffic because of strong

thunderstorms. I finally got into Milwaukee at 1:00 am. I had to wait

until 8:00 am to see if I could go standby on the 8:30 flight. If not

then I would be flying out on the 12:30 flight. I got out on the 12:30

flight and didn't get home to southern Minnesota until 4:00 pm. It was

a very exciting weekend of travel which I didn't mind, but it played

havoc on my legs and feet. I spent until Thursday laying in bed/on

couch recovering. The weather on both Saturday (96) and Sunday (90)

was great. It was sunny both days and I loved the hot weather. It

warmed me up. Since getting home we have had rain the last 3 nights.

Some of it has been severe thunderstorms with hail, high winds and

tornado's. We got the thunderstorms, hail and high winds, but no

tornado's. Our rivers, streams and ponds are over their banks, but we

live up just high enough that we shouldn't get any flooding.

Hugs
