Guest guest
Yesterday in a discussion about advocacy suggested some of us get together at camp to talk about:" ...how IMP as an organization might help small practices nationally, common issues we might all have and what approaches there are"My room at the Warwick has a separate living room. It looks large enough for a small group. We can use this space like an informal 'salon' after dinner or after the days activities. We could put our heads together to discuss how a national organization like IMP might advocate for small practice medicine in this age of huge medical centers and mega hospital centered medicine. Like credentialing at hospitals. Like anything that makes it challenging to be small fry in this big pond Or we could use Jean's experience as a spring board to talk about how we might use our local media to get the IMP word out there. We could consider how we might talk to our legislative representatives, state boards, medical associations etc, make statements to news outlets. We could assemble a 'package' of talking points to make it easier for any of us to do so. Sometimes it's difficult for me to explain to friends, family and colleagues what exactly we are so fired up about. Maybe we can craft our message into something easily digested.I'll compile a list of anyone who might be interested in hanging out at an after hours 'IMP Salon.' Email me. Heck while you're at it, jot down some thoughts, ideas on what practical things we could do, problems to solve. KathleenWe are talking about advocacy /how IMP as an organization might help small practices nationally?or we are talking about common issues we might all have and what approaches there are- perhaps just to establish a group or thread that follows thisAnd we are talking about ho w is since she hasn;t been heard from in a whilethat's a startSeveral people had some good ideas start a concversation MAria, I think and Eckhardt and some others- we should maybe sit down together and see wher e things go?How';s that? What exactly are we talking about? (yes, I am still alive, although in lurking mode recently) OK I am organiziing How's about- becasue I can find no other time that those of you interested in this- that we sit together and huddle during the Banquet SAturday night? Guest guest
what?! No bathroom breaks?? True, true Jean. This year we don't even have 5 minutes to move between break-outs....just too much to talk about! Friday night is a great idea to start at the reception, or in Kathleen's room after..... Banquet will be pretty mellow, but I thought maybe we could talk about movies or music or something:) Sleep before you come! Guest guest
Count me in. I wonder though if we will have more people that can fit in the room? If so, are there any of the meeting rooms that we can use in the evening or does that cost more? Eckhardt
