Guest guest Posted April 3, 2006 Report Share Posted April 3, 2006 Amy most the better doctors that I have read their stuff say you must stay on it till your thyroid is optimized. then after a couple weeks/months on that dose, start to wean. I have been on HC for a year and a half. I was on 20MG for a year then went to 30MG and stayed there for four months. I am now weaning down and have gotten to 20MG without any problems whatsoever. I will go to 15MG starting tomorrow. I remember a few months ago, you tried to wean down to 25 mg for a few days and had trouble and had to go back to 30. I can't believe you're down to 20 with no problems now. I'll look forward to hearing how your next reduction goes. I read the same thing in Peatfield that you're quoting. So where did I get the idea that you had to go off after 3 months? I tried to wean off my HC On March 20. Was having days where I couldn't stay awake in the morning, very tired. So I went back to 5 HC on Monday,March 27,and added more each day. As of today have raised it back to 20 mg HC and 5 grains of Armour. I feel great again had a really good day, and wasn't tired. I am back to the way I felt prior to weaning off HC. My temps are still 97.6-98.0 three hours after waking and around 98.4-98.6 in the afternoon. I went off HC too soon as my adrenals were not quite healed yet.
