Guest guest
copays are $60 a month? that is fantastic..... I would look at his other drugs as far as minimizing their costs..... maybe look at other drugs for manufacturer assistance........... >>> " Robin " 11/22/2010 10:37 AM >>> Hi everyone! I have a patient that needs Valcyte. He is post-transplant and is blind. He has private rx insurance through his wife but is not eligible for Mass Health (medicaid) and is no longer eligible for Medicare Extra Help with his Medicare part D plan. He will be losing his unemployment check next month as well. He is not eligible for help through Genentech, Inc. (distributor of valcyte) because he has private rx insurance and Medicare A/B. RX outreach.com, healthwellfoundation.org, needymeds.org does not offer help with Valcyte. ANY SUGGESTIONS? His monthly copays with Valcyte is $60.00/mth and he can't go generic. Thanks. Guest guest
Hi Robin, is Medicare primary or secondary? If secondary, he doesn't need D and should think about dropping it. Manufacturer has a copay assist card that can be used by Medicare beneficiaries who don't have Part D. The card will pick up 80% of the EGHP copay. If Medicare is primary, will the loss of unemployment benefits get him the LIS back? If so, can he hold out til then? Sounds like a tough case, more and more of them here these days Good luck. on Transplant Financial Coordinator Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital Legacy Transplant Services 1040 NW 22nd Ave Ste 480 Portland OR 97210 direct main office toll-free fax lmorriso@... -----Original Message-----From: TxFinancialCoordinators [mailto:TxFinancialCoordinators ]On Behalf Of RobinSent: Monday, November 22, 2010 8:37 AMTo: TxFinancialCoordinators Subject: Valcyte Assistance Hi everyone! Guest guest
Genentech did not specifically say. Paitent is retired. Receives social security of $20,000.00 a year and $6,425.00 in pensions. I will contact our Genentech rep.
