Guest guest
NO, they have to endure the 30 month COB unless they are 65 or older. If a person is 64-3/4 and/or turn 65 one day after starting dialysis they have to go through the 30 month COB. Any time a group coverage is added they get to do another COB. Guest guest
I have a patient who has had Medicare A and B (due to ESRD) since 1992 and Medicaid secondary. She recently got married and put on her husband's plan beginning March 27 2010. When she got put on her husband's plan, does she have to go through another COB period? I thought it was a one time thing that started when she started dialysis. At the time she started dialysis she didn't have any other insurance other than Medicaid. This is the first time she's had an EGP. Medicare is now showing secondary and I was just wondering why she's going throught the COB period now. thanks !
