Guest guest
Val - I need your opinion again. I have been taking the equivalent of about 27mg of HC - 5mg Pred, 5 mg HC plus about 1.25mg of Pred in the evenings to get through the night. After a good few days, when I was feeling more stable, sleeping better, hypoglycemia had eased, things have suddenly gone out of control again. I have been tracking my am morning temps and they have been reasonably constant at around 36.6. On Tuesday they rose to 37.1 (but that could be cycle-related) and I increased my Armour from 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 grains, as planned. I didn't feel that good in the afternoon - a bit hyper, anxious and some hot flashes, then tired. Thought that was the increase, and , as it's only a week since the last one, thought I would back off and wait another week, and stabilise the adrenals a bit more. So I only took a 1/4 grain extra once in total. Wednesday am my temp dropped to 36.7 (a 0.5 drop from the previous day), and, despite taking my normal dose of adrenal support, at midday I suddenly ran out of juice. At midday on the dot I became hypoglycemic - by the time I came to eat half an hour later I was shakey and then hit by extreme fatigue. At the same time I noticed the beginnings of a sore throat (my daughter came down with it at the weekend). Cursing, I stress-dosed with 20mg HC over the next 6 hours, and felt much better - the throat nearly went away. But the night was just terrible. Back to the bad old days. Awake at 1am - took 5mg HC- 3am, ate something and took another 5mg HC and then basically didn't sleep again. Today I feel awful - shaky, very adrenal, heavy pounding heart, panicky and stress intolerant. I have taken 5mg Pred, plus 15 mg of HC just to try and get back on track. My temp has gone back up to 37.1 this morning. My question is - what do you think has caused this? Was it the Armour increase, or the onset of a sore throat (which I can barely feel)or both? Did I knock the adrenals with the Armour increase and then the virus set in? Or could it just be the virus that is wreaking such havoc? With such a response to a minor virus I hate to think what I would be like with a major illness. I shall obviously try and stabilise the adrenals again with my normal level of support, put off the dose increase, and I have Ferritin work to do as well. What do you think? Guest guest
I think it was the virus and was just bad timing on the dose raise. I always make sure I am totally well and not been around someone sick before I change doses of anything I take.. just for this reason.Illness is an adrenal stress and so is the dose raise put the two together and that is why you felt it so much. -- Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV My Ebay Jewelry Store http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations The BEST thyroid website! http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
That's my feeling too. I just didn't think of catching the virus from my daughter (duh!). I have dropped a 1/4 grain from my Armour dose today just to give my adrenals a bit of a break, as my heart is still pounding, and will put back the dose increase to next week at the earliest. I also have ferritin issues, which won't be helping matters, so full steam ahead on that. On the stress dosing - I took 20mg extra yesterday, and 10mg extra HC today, and will take what I need to get through the day today. I can barely feel the sore throat and I don't seem to be getting any further symptoms.- can I drop back to my normal dose tomorrow, or should I continue for another day? I am still finding the right dose for me - I suspect I need a bit more than the 27mg equivalent of HC that I have been taking - more like 30mg I think. What I can't stand with all this is the constant second guessing and anticipating my body needs. It's enough to drive you crazy. Thanks for your help. -- In NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS , wrote: > > I think it was the virus and was just bad timing on the dose raise. Guest guest
I have found once I hit a good dose for me that I didn;t need to stress dose except for illness. SO that is a good sign. I think if you can keep it around 30MG HC equivalent it is not too high but it will just take some time to see if that is enough for you. -- Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV My Ebay Jewelry Store http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations The BEST thyroid website! http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
