I have not heard anything about a shortage of Actigall, Urso, or

Ursodiol here in MO, but I might be having side effects from Ursodiol. I

started taking Actigall. Then, my insurance company raised my copay so

much that I switched to Urso. Then, they " made " me switch to Ursodiol.

These past couple of weeks, shortly after I switched to Urosdiol, my

face has been a mess. My dermatologist wants me to go on oral

antibiotics and is not happy that I won't do it. I was on tetracycline

for years for acne. My husband thinks that's why I am having so many

health problems now. Anyway, I have adverse reactions from lots of

antibiotics, so I don't want to take them unnecessarily. Does anybody

else think they might be having side effects from Ursodiol?

quoting from http://www.rxmed.com/monographs/ursofalk.html

" Adverse Effects: The following adverse effects have been reported

with the use of ursodiol: exacerbation of pre-existing psoriasis,

rash, urticaria, dry skin, sweating, hair thinning, biliary pain,

cholecystitis, constipation, stomatitis, flatulence, headache,

fatigue, anxiety, depression, sleep disorder, arthralgia, myalgia,

back pain, cough and rhinitis. "

on the other hand, NOT taking it could lead to REAL problems..

you might keep your pretty skin and live 20 years less..

think about it..
