itching under the bandages

oh man, i think i just discovered something worse than pain: itching

that you can't scratch. i've started itching under the bandages down

the center of my chest. i know itching is a sign of healing but this is

pure torture. i even contemplated using a pencil, erasure side down of

course, to reach down the middle and relief myself but i didn't have a

clear path the whole way down. felt like something in the way and i

didn't want to chance it being anything important like tubing.how do

you manage to relieve the itching if you can't scratch it? i'm tempted

to take some pain medicine for the first time if for no ther reason

than to be knocked out and therefore not conscious of the itching.it's

been bothering me nonstop for several hours now.it's driving me crazy!
