I'm sure it's different for everyone, but I've taken it as late as an

hour before bed with no ill effects. But my cortisol was completely

trashed before I started taking it, too, so maybe it's just me.

Hi

Really? I had the idea in my head that you should not take in the

later part of the day and thought my taking it might be connected

with the insomnia.

As it is said to lasy only three/four hours it should have left the

system I suppose.

But then when i had my 24-hour saliva test, my cortisol was very low

and then rising in the evening causing insomnia.

Anyone else got info on this?

Would be very grateful.

Thanks .

Mo,

Of course, I also have to take Armour before bed in order to be able

to get up in the morning. I know that others have problems with

insomnia if they take T3 before bed, but I have to have it in order to

wake up in the morning.

My cortisol didn't go up in the evening really. It pretty much stayed

at 4-5 all day. So, it's probably just me.

I take my last dose right before I go to bed: 2 grains Armour & 5mg/HC

& I sleep like a baby! Haven't slept this good for a long time! I

also add 2mg melatonin into that evening mix.

Hi Mo,

I don't take HC, but I do take Isocort, so I would presume it is

basically alike. I take a dose in the evening and then take one a

half an hour or so before I go to bed. I have been known to take

more during the night if I am having any neck pain. It alleviates

my neck pain and then I go to sleep or back to sleep. I also take

30mgs of Armour at bedtime, sublingul. I just pop it into my mouth

and off to bed I go. They both have helped me get to sleep and to

sleep better.

Maybe you could try cutting the HC into 2.5 mg doses, you might

not need the whole 5 mgs late in the day or at night. And then

again, you may just do better not taking any after 3 pm or so.

Hi Kirsty

Well I am getting an education here for sure. I thought that as

cortisol naturally decreases in level from the high point in the

morning that cortisol levels SHOULD be low at bedtime.

Having trouble getting my head around this. thanks for telling me how

it is for you. I envy you sleeping like a baby! sound wonderful.

Hi

Thanbks for telling me about yur experience with this. I am

struggling to understand because I had this set idea in my head that

cortisol levels should naturally slope down towards the evening and

that it was my own levels being higher at night than in the daytime

when I got tested a while back that was causing me insomnia.

Hmmmmmmmmm.

Cortisol levels SHOULD be lower at night, but some of us they drop TOO

low and that can keep you awake. I also take 5MG at bedtime and sleep

like a rock,.
