Guest guest
Any of your nadas been to see a therapist who specializes in borderline personality? Just wondering what their tactics are. Mine is seeing one; it appears to me that the tactic is for the therapist to sort of befriend nada and appear to be on her side. Then do they move on to do other things I guess? B/c my nada is still up to her usual tricks. It seems that her therapist is trying to keep nada at bay from me and my friend somewhat but nada does not listen. Nada is under the impression her therapist does not think she is a borderline, so do they make the borderline think they are not and treat them like one anyway? Or how do they ever get help? Nada is with one of the well known BPD therapists. I was just curious, b/c nada tells people and thinks I am the mastermind of all conspiracy. I still think she may eventually call child protective service on me. Just curious about how these BP therapists work. This one of hers is supposed to call me but has not yet. Guest guest
Theresa: What I have heard of BP specific therapists is that they often force their patients to go through a BP boot camp before they'll take them as a client - the boot camp being a thing where the BP is told what to do and has to do it without adding things or counter offering. (In Seattle or the NW somewhere) Most of the therapists that would have made a diifference for my mother, pissed her off - IE they called her on what she was doing, so she decided not to go to them anymore. I don't know if you ever got the book " becoming a constant object in the psychotherapy of a borderline patient " but it doesn't sound like the strategies it suggests for dealing w/ a BP are the ones that the therapist you speak of is currently using.
