Guest guest
Hi Cosima, Could also be the tape that's making you itch. I tend to get itchy from surgical tape. Guest guest
Itching can be worse than pain! Have you tried Benadryl? Benadryl might help. Also, the active ingredient in Tylenol PM for sleeping is Benadryl so if you have any Tylenol PM on hand, it could help. Guest guest
I wonder if a benadryl would help with the itching??? Probably better than a pain pill. Guest guest
Cosima, If the itching is more than you can stand, remove the bandages and replace them with ACE bandages (the drugstore has them) . . . You will probably need some help in wrapping it around you, but, if there's something in the bandage that's causing you to itch, you will be getting rid of it. You might apply some anti-itch lotion - ask the druggist for recommendations. Just keep the lotion away from the incisions! Guest guest
the post-operative instructions say not to remove the bandages for any reason without consulting the doctor but under the circumstances i don't think she'd say not to do anything at all. i'm going to email her and see if she'll let me switch to the ace bandasge or maybe even put on the sports bra i bought instead. it could very well be something in this wrapping they put on me. i hadn't thought of that! > > Cosima, > > If the itching is more than you can stand, remove the > bandages and replace them with ACE bandages (the > drugstore has them) . . . Guest guest
Cosima - if the bandages are tape, I wouldn't remove them yourself. After one of my C-sections, the doc came in and quickly removed the tape, only to pull blisters open which had developed underneath due to an allergy. It was horrible. So if you are itching under tape, I would wait for the doc. By the way, CONGRATULATIONS!!
