Guest guest
- Thanks Kacey I had been doing very well and now am experiencing more symptoms again. I am very sure that hormones are involved as I have just started having a return of hot flashes. I am getting them several times an hour and perimenopause is very very hard on anyone having any kind of autoimmune problem. My mood swings are worse than my physical problems! It is just almost unbelievable how much hormone fluctuations can cause depression and severe irritability. I find myself reduced to tears over everything and the whole experience is humbling at the compexity of our bodies and how they can bring us to our knees!(me anyway---makes me feel like a real wussy!). Seriously, I can't stress enough to women between the ages of 35 and 55 how much havoc perimenopausal hormone imbalance can play with your emotional and physical health. Of course, it doesn't have to, some women have very little or no symptoms. But it is nice to know what could be causing us to suddenly feel like garbage after thinking we are improving. For those of us in this age range, I found this on a medical site: List of COMMON symptoms during perimenopause: hot flashes, irregular heartbeats, mood swings, sudden tears, crashing fatigue, feelings of dread, doom, aching, sore joints, muscles and tendons, increased tension in muscles resultings in muscle spasms and cramps, headache, nausea, depression, sudden bouts of bloat, EXABERATION OF EXISTING CONDITIONS, hair loss or thinning of head, pubic or whole body hair, dizziness, electric shock sensation under the skin and in the head, tingling in the extremities, gum problems, burning tongue, tinnitus and many many more. Even women on the antibiotic therapy I am on have said that they didn't make real progress until their hormones were balanced. So never minimize the role hormone imbalance can play in our health.
